I always just swap between FM and DAB to get the match I’m interested in. They always seem to have one or the other. Used to be annoying when not all kit had DAB but these days it should be common enough to work. If you’re struggling with MW get your radio equipment updated! I have Dab. Is mw digital? It isn’t on my dab makita radio. If you’ve got DAB you should just be able to tune in to the Radio Bristol Channel. Almost always seems to be the opposite fixture as to what’s on the standard FM channel. Unless you’re out of the standard area or struggling for digital signal. MW = the medium wave which I thought they’d turned off and quite the opposite to digital.

Point still remains that there it is a lot harder to just switch the radio on and listen to a Rovers game for some fans. If I want to listen to a City game then it's easy. Shouldn't be that way.

There must have been Radio Bristol commentary yesterday as I think that's what I was listening to whilst watching the game on iFollow. What frequency that was on I couldn't tell you. Update your car?

No thankyou, I don't see a car as a good investment and quite an ignorant response during this cost of living crisis. It's sad if that is your answer and you are just so accepting of our local radio station promoting our local rivals over us.

DAB is common enough on most vehicles these days that I don’t think it’s unreasonable for them to implement an alternation between DAB/FM. But that’s me. If your vehicle doesn’t have DAB you don’t have to buy a new one, you could always upgrade your head unit relatively inexpensively or find a way to play the ifollow audio service on your car which always gives the gas commentary.

Tbf to GGMI when we were playing P’boro a few weeks back I was watching on iFollow. Around the 75th minute I had drive for a while and took a screen grab of the channels it would be on. On all channels FM, MW & DAB I couldn’t get the game - but I did get 2 city streams and bloody Yeovil.
In the end I spent 10 minutes faffing about getting annoyed that I just put on iFollow on radio and connected me phone. It was a right pain in the area and should be more accessible IMO

iFollow's not free to air like the radio plus needs a reasonable mobile data connection, which also costs money.

Radio Sports presentor states what frequencies the various matches are on just before kick off so listeners can tune in to correct frequencies. The away team from Bristol has been on DAB and the home team on 94.9 FM Other Radio Bristol frequencies are. 104.6 MHz (Bath), 103.6 MHz (Weston-super-Mare). This takes in Yeovil and if more frequencies are needed due to Rugby etc. MW is used. It’s not rocket science. Gas, Sh*t Yeovil, Bristol & Bath Rugby always covered

Sorry gasandelectricity but if you think I'm getting my radio upgraded just so I can listen to Rovers on the radio once or twice a season then no thankyou. Its not about me getting it or not getting it. My point is even if you're just a casual listener that is tuning in, the sh** are in your face whereas we're not even on the radar.

If you've got 94.9fm anyone can easily tune in to City. For Rovers unless you've got DAb then Unlucky.

Your prerogative to not upgrade. But don’t then complain that you can’t listen to the gas. They can only have one of us on at the time. It must have been that way for years but MW is the past and DAB is the future. Really don’t see how anything has changed?

You should try living just the wrong side of Chippenham. Radio Bristol a non starter. Might as well be outer Mongolia. Radio Wiltshire broadcasts only news about crop harvesting and the best way to de-flea your cattle.

It is about the gas being inaccessible to Joe public. Its a form of advertising itself.
