Depends on your perspective but I think you can add Billy and Ellis to that list. They're the only decent players we've sold on in recent years that come to mind. But that's probably the full list of players we'd have been disappointed about anyway, bar JCH who is probably the only decent player we got a decent fee for IMO and even then it was still on the low side. Everyone else people would have been happy to have lost anyway. Ayunga / Hanlan come to mind. Personally thought 750k for Ellis was a decent fee. Especially considering he moved on a year later for 450k. we stitched Ipswich good and proper on that sale

Still should put a bid in for leahy. A goal scoring left back would fit us well and is also a leader that Joe wants That a bit left field - no pun intended. He doesn't fit into any of the ingredients that Joey has outlined for targets before, but I think you could be spot on. I can't see it happening but it could be a surprise masterstroke. him and Sinclair down the left side would work.one of only three players joe would have kept when we went down

We have the 3rd worst defensive record in League 1 and the 5th best scoring record. He needs to bring in someone to improve the defensive record if possible. Personally, I don’t think the problem is with the individual players as such. A better investment might be with a defensive coach, even if it’s a part-time or a temporary consultant. The players all look good players to me but as a collective it’s just not working for them. I think they would benefit from a consistent formation and selection. Partnerships and understandings, especially at the back, shouldn’t be underestimated. Centre backs need to work and trust each other as a pair, the right sided centre half and right back need to work together, as does the right back with the person playing immediately in front of them etc, etc……Having said all that if there was even a whiff of a chance of signing Connor Taylor on a permanent deal I’d be all over that. Regarding Belshaw, his form has slipped and he’s made a few mistakes but a kick up the backside is more than enough. I can’t believe we’ve got fans calling for our current player of the year to be replaced. A ‘sweeper keeper’ at this level will always make the odd mistake, it comes with the territory and bravery needed to play that role effectively. He’s prevented so many one-on-one chances by coming off his line over the past 18 months and that seems to have now been taken for granted and when it goes wrong there are calls for him to be booted out. We need to be careful what we wish for. I think we are well catered for up front so would only bring someone in if Loft and Saunders were made available for transfer. Midfield is a problem at the moment. Rossiter is being missed massively and I do fear (simply because of his long history of knee problems) that he’ll be missing longer than we all think - obviously hope I’m wrong on that. A young, mobile, quick, ball winning youngster from a prem or championship club would fit the bill. Some back up for Finley would also be handy. Attacking centre mid I’m still confident that Evans and Macca will return to form. yeah Belly has had a few funny moments this season but I agree how can we be even contemplating replacing him as number 1? I think Joeys comments was a cheeky kick up the ass for Belly but I'm amazed that some posters on here are wanting him dropped of gone after the year he's had! Fickle fans

Pant's pulled down, examples? Not sure you can include the snake as the fee was in the contract. Depends on your perspective but I think you can add Billy and Ellis to that list. Everyone else people would have been happy to have lost anyway. Ayunga / Hanlan come to mind. Boden ran his contract down, what did you expect the club to do, to physically force him to sign a new contract? Given he could have left on a free in the summer we did well to get £300K for him. I doubt Preston felt that was money well spent given he was out injured more than he played.

Elliot Anderson combined total of 96 minutes this season. What a waste of a season.

Elliot Anderson combined total of 96 minutes this season. What a waste of a season. Think he will go to a championship club in January Far too good to be warming a bench, if JB could work his magic and tempt him back it would be a master stroke One of if not the best young player I’ve ever seen UTG

Looking at Harry Anderson’s Instagram, I’d say that he might be off - “It’s been a pleasure Unreal group of lads, sealing promotion, some great holidays and memories. Here’s to 2023”

I also hope not but surprised and disappointed that he hasn’t signed/ been offered a contract extension.

Newcastle Utd - Jamal Lewis - Left back. … Rated but down the pecking order.

Newcastle Utd - Jamal Lewis - Left back. … Rated but down the pecking order. That would be a big fall from grace for him if he ended up in league 1! If we were to get a left back from the toon Matthew Bondswell might be of interest.
