That site is not to be trusted and several of the figures are incorrect. Especially as we play in Sky Bet One.

Everyone saying that these figures are a load of BS, and I have no reason to think otherwise, but does anyone actually have the correct figures or are they all guessing too?
Anyone know how we compare with the other teams in the division or, and I dread to think what the answer will be, compared to our 6 fingered neighbours? Or maybe Luton who probably have similar resources to us?

Interesting as it is, I wouldn't take anything on that site too seriously. Their own disclaimer says; "We strive to collate and maintain over 50,000 salaries from the worlds 7 largest sports, spanning the past 10 years. Our team trawls the internet for reliable sources on a daily basis to save you, our readers, the time! Spawned out of a University economics paper on the state of modern football wages, our founders were inspired to make the information they researched publically available and have maintained the database ever since. Please note we only accept salaries from: - Team/player press releases - Confirmed by widely circulate articles from top tier publications - Industry experts & team insiders - Accurately and reliably sourced encyclopedias & databases"

I would give the first team squad a basic weekly wage of £750 and then they get more based on performance, appearances, wins, goals, attendances and Community Trust appearances etc.
Some players get paid a small fortune and don't actually play that much. Together with agents fees, too much money slips away from the clubs.
Too many managers and owners think with their hearts, but very few think of a solid financial base as a starting point.
If you earn £6 million, why spend £8 million? It's ridiculous for nearly every club to chase the dream, when only a few clubs are successful each season. You can see why clubs go to the wall.
If it started with two or three clubs who joined the likes of Accrington and refused to pay over the odds on wages, the clubs would be safer from financial ruin and more could be spent on fans comfort and experience and attendance money could be reduced, which could attract more fans ie Bradford cheap season tickets etc.

The players have a skill that only a tiny proportion of the population possess and deserve a decent level of pay for what is a very short career. Totally agree on agents fees, I don’t understand why the footballing authorities don’t just ban clubs from making payments to third parties (such as agents). If a player wants to employ an agent he can pay them himself out of his wages or share of signing on fee but only once it’s gone through PAYE. I’d begrudge an agent leeching off me if I was a player and would ask the PFA to represent me in contract negotiations.
