Just being a WUM really, but Joey would love the chance surely ? Could definitely see him standing leaning on the dugout, uninterested as someone else's players get relegated

JB will not be going to Everton. No one needs to worry! Irrespective of his ability as a football manager Everton have enough off-field drama atm.
UTG!

The Everton Job is like a poison chalice can't see many people jumping at taking the job on. Although press reporting Sean Dyche is favourite for the job did wonders at Burnley

To bring in Frank as his assistant? Frank will be off to AG. 😇 That’s exactly the sort of big name but poor managerial record appointment they would lap up! As for JB, I can definitely see him managing Everton one day (or another prem club), but that’s a long way off.

I just saw this myself, and thought WTF. That is about as random an appointment as you're ever likely to see. Part time or otherwise.

Surely the random bit is PT getting a Premiership manager's job, if somebody had suggested he would get such a job when he left us they would have been ridiculed for years!!

You'd like Joey to leave Rovers? Who'd come in and do as well as he has since he's had the squad he built? Taking our league position right now (and ignoring our average league position since he has been here) his performance has been no great shakes and littered with verbal diarrhea. By historical comparison. Who knows what the future holds, he may indeed lead the club to it's highest position since 1992. But with a few days to go before the current window closes we have a very unbalanced squad which is leaking goals for fun. So at this point I am not inclined to be seduced by the words of "Joey", but more inclined to ask "wtf are you doing Barton?" Hopefully I will be made to eat my words come May.

Most of us like Barton and can see that he’s turned our club around in the last two years but to the rest of the country looking in they see it more basically and that he’s simply got relegated with us and then got us back up which is hardly grounds for appointment at a big Premier league club. I do think he’d turn around their fortunes and get them galvanised because he’s done that with us but could well struggle to keep them up first because he’s done that with us also. But I can’t see them coming in for him so I don’t think we need to worry or in some cases hope that he’s going there anyway.

No chance JB would get a Premiership job next but if any Championship club was looking at appointing him then they note that he'd completely rebuilt the relegated squad and made it competitive in L1 following promotion inside 18 months. He also presently had the league's top goal scorer and goal assists, a player who must be worth £m's having been signed on a free, plus had turned both Connolly and Anderson into 1st team squad players. He had also made most home games near sell outs by playing attractive attacking football.
For once it's lucky he carries so much baggage or he could well be off.

I reckon Everton would love a Tait and Grazioli strike force right now
