So what's going on, has JB lost the dressing room? No. He has fooled himself into thinking slow passing and possession waiting for the perfect moment will bring success to an average league one club on limited finances. He temporarily seems to have forgotten 15 passes across the backline followed by loss of possession is what Garner did and failed at. Its what led to relegation and several manager changes and a squad overhaul. Thats all. Get back to quick interpassing and forawrd running and things will go well again.

Coutts and Finley run the dressing room, I don't think they will be looking to turn the squad against Barton at the moment (although they are not his "yes" men). I would imagine that Scott Sinclair also has an influence now, he seems to be a calm, reasonable character, so not likely to lead a mutiny this early in his second coming at Rovers.

We only started improving last season when Coutts got going after a slow start

Strange comment - Certainly don't believe he has lost the dressing room but he hasn't helped himself with fans and players alike shooting his mouth off firstly about Wembley, the play offs and then about how he constantly tells under performing players they aren't good enough.
Some home truths needed for JB potentially...
1. You have had two very poor transfer windows because you rely on phone calls from your mates to identify talent - there is no decent scouting structure. (PIRATE has way more in his locker). The signing of Balcombe was a joke and McDonald is worse than a joke if the rumours that we have never seen him play and knew nothing about him until the last hour of the window are true. 2. Your style of football has been found out - teams will let you have possession - knowing that when you get into their half there is no killer pass or width to threaten them. Build up play is pathetically slow - sideways / backwards nonsense even the crowd are starting to get bored with it. 3. You persist with a poor starting line up - Gordon is not good enough, Coutts is way past his sell by date, Connolly is only good when he is the beta Centre Back he needs a strong influence alongside him. 4. Don't bullshit the fans with Wembley , signings and Play offs - We have been feed sh**e on all three just needs to concentrate on getting things right on the pitch. The pitch and the referee come in for constant moans - Get on with it man.
I don't think he has lost the dressing room but all this tripe that players are low on confidence has to stop with him and his coaching team and they need to turn things around quickly.. We are in a relegation fight and at the moment have some wriggle room - that can change very quickly.

As Pirate identified earlier this week we've now employed a Chief Scout
Not sure JB can be said to be persisting with Gordon when he hasn't played for weeks
I also thought Manger said they knew MacDonald from his time at Tranmere?
Tactics wise I sense it's down to players not the management style as we seemed to turn it on v Exeter in the second half and I can't recall Fleetwood ever playing similar slow build up football.

Coutts runs the dressing room? Do they all walk out backwards? No, he keeps the group bonded, such as organsing the head shave to raise funds for Nick Anderton.

Regularly achieving over 60% possession, but most of it in our own defensive area. Defender to defender, back to goalie. Goalie to first defender, forward to midfielder running back with opposition attacker hard on his heels, so he has to push it back to goalie. At this point, the goalie could play the ball up for the forwards to chase. Nah! We have to ensure we keep possession, so push the ball ten yards to a defender. And it goes on and on (Like me at the moment!),

Whatever it is - it needs fixing, quickly! In addition to Rossiter we've lost Thomas and Gibbons and Belshaw's seemingly been sent to Coventry. That's 4 regular starters now missing plus Evans having a terrible run if form leading to him not being selected.

As much as I don't rate Barton as a team manager, I too am shocked at the level of decline in form recently.
