No doubt some will blame Barton for this but if he’s ( Belshaw) reacted badly he definitely shouldn’t be anywhere near the first team squad. Correct decision but sure to rile up a few on here . I would blame Barton. Signing a keeper under the terms he did, does not suggest it's for competition. It suggests he's already made his mind up. Even if Belshaw was the best player in training, he still wouldn't have played. Plus Barton slagged him off during an interview, after a game. You still want players to knuckle down and fight for a place, but that is harder for a keeper than any other position. More often than not, they don't get there place back unless the other keeper is off form or hard injured. They don't get twenty minutes to impress at the end of a game. A lot of Fleetwood fans said Barton used to fall out with players all the time and that there were reports of bullying from Barton. With his temper and where he just says stuff, without thinking he's always going to fall out with players. How many players has he fallen out with already?? Without knowing the full story, it's hard to say if Barton is to blame at all. But it's worrying that players are continually falling out with him. Belshaw has been a non league keeper for years, why did he fall out with his previous manager after promotion to the league? Very odd in itself that one, perhaps we are now seeing why.

His manager didn’t think he’d be league standard. And the Managers before that? Perhaps their Manager plays his cards closer to his chest. To be fair he’s looked non league in various games this season.

Was weak in the first minute flapping at a cross and giving away the corner leading to him having to make a double save, but has been solid since that early scare

Do we actually know that Belly threw a wobbler? Can only go by the managers words on the radio at this point. To go from #1 to benched/not involved so quickly, would be surprised if there was nothing in it. But who knows. Just hope Balcombe gets that clean sheet tonight first & foremost🤘🏼 Cheers - managed to catch up with the interview at half-time.

There you go. Joey told Belly yesterday he was on the bench tonight. Belly then threw his toys out of the pram at yesterdays training session, didn’t bother his ass in training and Joey has deemed that not acceptable.

JB confirming on Radio Bris that Belshaw has thrown his toys out the pram & won’t be near the first team for some time? Christ More man management issues...when will this ever stop Belshaw needed to act like a professional and an adult. If you're dropped you should do all that you can in training to change the manager's mind, not throw a hissy fit.

Barton quote: "unless his attitude and application improves in the short term, he will be away from the group for the forseeable"

Any goalie with half a brain would just keep quiet and hope that Ipswich put a few past Balcombe tonight, I'm not really sure Balcombe did anything on Saturday to warrant being dropped.

Thing is, should he be saying this, publicly ? I really do not see any need to do so other than to rationalise his picking of Balcombe. Just seems strange that JB put these thing in the public domain.

You hope Ipswich put a few past Balcombe? Why? He doesn't. He said Belshaw should keep quiet and hopes Balcombe fails.
