I've previously mentioned the commentators difficulty between distinguishing between left and right footed. More recently I heard a clip regarding Collins 'customary back flip.' Pretty sure it's a front somersault. Last night the goal line clearance wasn't over the line as the referee's watch didn't say so. When did we have goal line technology. Please, radio Bristol get someone decent commentating. When I miss a game I'd like to have the faintest idea what is going on with radio commentary. They seem to forget that people listening on the radio have no visuals. Rant over

But I did hear that bit about the refs watch and thought….. is that technology at our level ? I didn’t think so but wasn’t completely sure .

We’re lucky to have box nets let alone multiple high tech cameras attached to the goal posts😂

It's all relative.
Many moons ago - living up north - I used to listen to commentary of the likes of Oldham, Rochdale, Blackpool etc via BBC Radio Lancs, Mancs or Scouse when they played the Gas. It was all terrible by comparison - because all the best commentators were working on the top matches amongst their local premier league clubs. Often the commentators were clearly only at the ground a very short time before kick-off and apparently done little prep. I found the commentary very difficult to follow - much worse than Richard 'Ted' Hoskins, Ed Hadwin and Keith.
It's about the only bit of the BBCs output that I utilise - which is depressing when you think of the cost of the TVL.

The commentators aren’t too bad. When we’re losing they can seem a little bit biased but that’s because we’re seeing the world through blue tinted glasses and the sort of stuff commentators say in general can be a bit annoying when they write you off in the 60th minute.
Keith Brookman, clearly a top man, should probably talk a bit less about his mates birthdays but otherwise I’d be glad to listen.
I’d much rather listen to ours than someone else’s. Lincoln’s the other day we’re terrible saying we had 2-3 nicknames one of which was Bristol 🙄🙄🙄 and repeatedly kept calling us Bristol.

When we had Cheltenham in the tin pot trophy I listened to the BBC Gloucester commentary. I actually knew what was going on. Don't mind the chat but I think Radio Bris think that people listening are also watching. Its radio not TV commentary. Not knowing your left from right is a bad start

A million years ago when football was first broadcast on the 'Home service' there was a chart in the Radio Times dividing the pitch into numbers and as the commentary went on a hushed voice would whisper the number of the square where the play was actually at thus giving fans an idea of where the ball was. Simpler times with no weird handball rule-intentional only.

Not knowing your left from right is a bad start I sometimes choose to listen to the away commentary on i-follow, and have noticed that you tend to get more actual match commentary than on RB.

I find the match day commentary irritating, every subject under the sun is talked about with very little actual football.
We need a new Colin Howlett!

I think it would be better if they have ifollow as well on a laptop. Quite often they make the wrong call about decisions which are quite clear on ifollow, but understandably not from the back of the East Stand on the opposite side of the pitch from the camera.

Think his favourite line was along the lines of 'the goalie had no chance to save at all'.... for every goal. I must take my hat off - chapeau - to Tour de France commentators. Just people chatting random stuff for 80% of 4 hours

When the video is on ifollow I watch I watch it with the sound off...much more enjoyable. Still waiting for an option to have crowd noise only. When we watch a match live we have no commentary so why do we need one on TV?

Square one was the penalty area so that meant the keeper had the ball.
