Rumours on the radio he is about to take the QPR gig. Always liked him and would have welcomed him at Rovers. He has done a great job at Wycombe and I’m surprised he hasn’t been headhunted previously. Perhaps Geography has swung this one.

He has a certain style of football which isnt always easy on the eye to watch, its been effective over a long term at Wycombe but it certainly has a ceiling. Wycombe are an absolute Banned word of a club and it suits them perfectly.

Agreed, my number one choice and he conducts himself with great dignity.

I nearly choked a few weeks ago when a commentator on National Radio said that Bristol Rovers had conceded an early goal followed by, "Don't you just love it when Bristol Rovers concede an early goal."

It was probably Richard (Ted) Hoskin. Nice bloke Gareth, but no thanks.

Yes Martin O'Neil did turn Rovers down to stay at Wycombe before moving and then establish himself in the top flight.

I think Gareth Ainsworth will play to the players strengths so don't expect the same style as Wycombe, he will inherit far better players at QPR.

Wycombe have scored as many and conceded half as many as us, I'd love to be playing "non football" like Wycombe!

We kept winning while attendances dropped - go figure! I did indeed, Coughlan really won me over with his winning football as I was very disappointed to lose Darrell Clarke. Shame he wasn't backed more would've been great to find out if we could sustain it for the remainder of the season.

Ainsworth confirmed as new QPR manager.Step forward Ben Garner, the perfect fit to destroy a hoofball team pushing for the play offs.

Agreed, my number one choice and he conducts himself with great dignity. Exactly. Has done a brilliant job at Wycombe. Inherited them going out of the league, saved them, got promotion and established them in League 1 before taking them to the Championship. And then only Derby cheating stopped them staying up. I suspect he’s played a large part in making Wycombe a very well run club. As to those complaining about the ‘anti-football’, well, I guess we all do it now. Perhaps we learnt from Wycombe! Whoever scores the first goal now always slow it down, everyone stands in front of free kicks etc. etc. And of course he’ll play to the strengths of his players, just like he did at Wycombe. UTG!

I can see him being back at Wycombe within 6 to 12 months. He's done a remarkable job at Wycombe and it was them that stayed up when we went down but I just can't see him stepping out of his comfort zone and taking QPR up to the Premier league because that's what his new club want from him. Nathan Jones Mark 2 written all over it imo
