Would not have thought it would have proved so popular. Maximum ticket price £30 and the chance to watch an England football team that has won a European championship.

Indeed K , i certainly am no misogynist but it’s not something i am interested in but fair play to those that do. I could be accused of being old fashioned, at worst as when i see women play what were traditionally mens sports then i find it hard to see them as the fairer sex, especially Rugby. What many fail to mention is that many who once watched the 82, have now transitioned to the rugby and now do not go to the football and i am talking what used to be hardcore fans.

I was at the game last night. Lots of pass and move, work the angles and the channels.
Lionesses now 29 games unbeatean.
On current form I think they would give Rovers first team a tough game...and probably beat us.

That was Arsenal’s women’s team and they were missing key players.

Whilst it's great entertainment it's miles away from men's professional football.

In an intergender (yes, there's a word for these things....) match I'd be surprised if they could beat a half decent Sunday league park side. That's not meant as being disrespectful to women's football. I think the standard has increased massively over the past 10 years and it's entertaining to watch, but the two are like chalk and cheese. Not comparable really. The Lionesses would wallop a side made up of 11 me's though.

Their skill levels have risen and then some but they would definitely struggle but then, they have never said they were in competition with men. I do find it interesting that, in USA, boys and girls play in the same team, up until a certain age. I don’t know what that age is though

I don’t know what that age is though They do here as well and is more common than you think, believe they can now play in the same team up to U16's if they so wish.

They are allowed to up to under 18s now. Most choose to play girls only football, before that age though.

I think the problem becomes as they get older the boys get so much more physically stronger and bigger than the girls.
It is hard for the women's game to progress. Until there is a lot more money in it it will always be a gamble for a girl to pursue a footballing career. For both both boys and girls it takes so much dedication and missing out on normal child hood and family things to earn a professional contract. So few make it. However for the men's game the rewards are so much higher than the women's.
Having said that the woman's game has progressed immensely in the last 5 to 10 years
