So the latest supercomputer prediction (ok most of us take those predictions with a huge pinch of proverbial salt but just say it gets it right) has us finishing 15th, would you be happy with that.

I know that injuries have played a part in our recent mini-slump and that was always a possibility with the high stakes, high risk strategy prosecuted by the manager, however the fallout from the way the existing players were treated during the transfer window smacks of a lack of understanding of human nature and our current position in the league table is therefore partially self inflicted. That is why, at present, I feel a slight tinge of disappointment that this season will probably not realise a loftier position (no pun intended) although I will be far from unhappy with securing our league one status by the end of the campaign.

Newly promoted with some big hitting clubs in Lg1, Wednesday, Ipswich, Plymouth, Bolton, Barnsley, Derby, I'd take 20th right now and just stay up.

Disappointed we won’t have achieved a playoff push but the other week the forum was convinced we were going to slump to relegation so I’ll take 15th and consolidation for a push next season.

Before the season started I would have been satisfied with a solid mid-table finish but now feels like a disappointment given the quality of our strike force. The nonsense around the goalkeeper and the poor January window have really knocked the stuffing out of this season.

Would be happy with 15th Hoping for a good finish; goal should be top half. 60 pts. and as close to a neutral goal diff as we can. But if we can keep picking up enough points to stay around 14th/15th and have some good fun games at home with the top sides, I'll be happy enough. Fair bit to do in the summer

All fairly depressing in typical rovers style,we flirted with a play off push and could have been looking at a Wembley final but we end up just hoping we stay up,sadly until that new stadium arrives I think this will always be the case.

Last season we probably had a top 3 budget, but got Billy Elliott.
This season we probably have a top ten budget, but have some players who have struggled to adapt and too many changes (style, formation, team selection etc, etc) so 15-18 would be about right.

15th would be ok. Be a shame though ,as if Collins leaves in the summer we might struggle next season. Would have been nice to have had a playoff push whilst he was still here.

I'd have been happy with 20th or above at the start of the season and I'd still settle for any finish that means we're still in L1 next season.
However, to finish 15-20th having been 8th with 20 games left to play, would be a little disappointing.
It would also be a worrying decline and raise serious doubts about our chances next season, particularly as we're likely to lose Collins. We would have almost certainly been relegated this season without him.
So yes, I'd be happy with 15th, but if we've struggled to stay up with arguably the best striker in L1, how will we fair without him? Serious rebuild needed in the summer.

Happy to be in the league for 23/24 and another crack at it! Anything in this first season that means not going back to Sutton, Crawley, Salford and the like next term 🤦🏻

Ah, yes. But we got rid of the "Dead wood" such as Alfie and Harvey Saunders. Today's Super Signing soon becomes Dead Wood, here.

Mid to lower half was my expectation though I think we could have been challenging for playoffs, but messing up the transfer window and the goalkeeping situation have ended any playoff hopes. I think this season is now about preparing for next season.

I didn't want us to fall flat in our first season back in L1. Agree it's been up and down for sure but as long as we're still in there scrapping I'll be quite happy come May. Saturday at Oxford was great fun, couldn't hear a sound from their supporters until some joined in with 'we're **** and we know we are' and 'sacked in the morning'. UTG

It doesn’t really make much difference where we finish as long as we stay up. Then, it’s a case of learning lessons in regards to recruitment and how we set up. If we do, then we already know we can be competitive in this division from that great spell before Christmas. There will always be bumps in the road but there is a lot about this football club which is in good shape at the moment.

Mostly agree, I would caveat that though by saying momentum going into the close season is important both from a retention and recruitment point of view as it can show intent for the new season. It also gets fans excited, helping to boost season ticket sales and a wider recognition across the board.

Is Marquis worth the wages? Could go on but it's an area we could do better with (putting aside Anderson etc). I guess budgets and who wants to actually relocate to Bristol come into as well.
