I did ask this question in the other thread. What's happening with the waste disposal sites (Albert Road by the dogs home) in the area are they being relocated are they on part of proposed development land, if you know that area well you will know how much it stinks in the summer Will reek of Gas in no timeđ

I know that one of the world's top sports agents has been on board, pitching to very wealthy people as prospective investors, including information regarding where we are at with the potential new stadium. I can't imagine that would have been happening if the project was truly dead in the water at the time. My source - one of the people who was approached for discussions. BDO? Sorry, that means nothing to me (oh, Vienna!)

Does seem strange to come out now with something like this if it isn't 99% a done deal. He's been happy to keep quiet over the past 2.5 years. I hope youâre correct about it being a â99% done deal.â It would be fantastic if it were. But I thought that Conygar had agreed a ÂŁ450,000 deal to make a planning application on the Fruit Market site, which may include a sports stadium but they have to have put in a planning application by 24.3.24. That is a fantastic first step and a sign of good intent from them and by Wael on behalf of BRFC. But a done deal? Probably not yet, but itâs great news. The done deal must be the intention to put plans into BCC for developing the FM site to include a stadium for us. Iâm sure if Iâm wrong someone will correct me. UTG!

Ah, right - sorry, I was told the name of the individual who made contact, I don't know who he was representing. Anyway, the person who was approached decided it wasn't a good fit for him. I'm sure that there would have been others who have had meetings about investing, maybe something will come to light further down the line. It all seems to be quite hush hush this time.

I can't imagine Congyer are going to spend money on two, or even more, different sets of planning applications, then decide at a later date which plans they'll proceed with once they obtain pp. Surely the only plans they'll seek pp on are those including a stadium if they've only got 12 months to submit the plans?

I'm not 100% convinced just yet' only time will tell and we all need to be very patient. â Temple Quarter as a Stadium name does have a ring to it mind! Fruit Merchants Quarter?

We all know from the UWE debacle no stadium deal is done until at least the spade is in the ground but I can't see Congyer have up to 5 different plans for the FM and are still waiting to decide which one to proceed with.
Assuming we've got whatever financial backing is required then I'm confident the stadium will go ahead, or at least Congyer will be seeking pp for a stadium.

I get the impression with big projects like these that what is in the public domain isn't the latest stage in private and in reality things have moved one several steps.

One of the issues they have to overcome is that the land is contaminated from pre- fruit market days when the old steam engine sheds were sited here. Costs of decontamination are substantial.

How much is it? Is this really an issue? Contaminated land on the edge of 2 waterways that has been used to trade food for the past few decades. How come it needs fixing for a commercial/residential development?
