Worth reading carefully the contents of today's The Pirate.
Tom Gorringe has been explicit and clear about a number of items in INSIDER KNOWLEDGE.
He communicates exceptionally well with supporters through his column.
Partly explains why the Fan Engagement Index rating has improved recently.

It has now been several weeks since our last game, due to the international break and the postponement of the Plymouth fixture.
Our last game was Portsmouth at home when we felt that the key decisions didn't go our way on the day. Through our continued dialogue with the PGMOL on refereeing standards and how we can work together to achieve positive change, we discussed the core incidents from that fixture with them. It was advised in their view the first goal for Portsmouth was offside and should not have
stood. Although that is no surprise and doesn't give us any additional comfort, we hope that by clubs working with the PGMOL to make changes that these instances can be reduced to ensure a fairer and more entertaining product for all stakeholders in the game. We also thank them for their continued dialogue and honesty in these instances.
The international postponement was the first that the club have had for our own international call-ups and it is great that we have players that are operating at a level that
Despite this, know that the late postponement of the Shrewsbury game would've been frustrating for supporters that were looking to travel for the game. With that in mind, we were delighted that, once again, Wael has offered to fund free transport for supporters traveling for the rearranged fixture.
Sorry having problems copying it on to gaschat

Last week, we saw our accounts for last season logged with Companies House. These bring to life the cost of relegation to League Two and the ambition and investment that took place to get the club back to League One at the first time of asking. We continue to be grateful for Wael for his continued financial investment to keep pushing the club forward.
In terms of finances for this season, we remain on course to achieve a record level of turnover for the club and that is in no small part to the support that we continue to have from you all, week in and week out. That has led to incredibly high Season Ticket sales of well in excess of 4,000 at the time of writing and consistently strong attendances at games. Due to this, as stated previously, we are exploring the options for a new South Stand to increase the capacity of The Mem, improve the experience for those attending and to also improve the facilities for those with additional needs.
This project, as with any of this scale has taken some time and we have continually reviewed the plans over a number of months to ensure that we were utilising the space effectively for the maximum improvement for the short-term (whilst our ambitions remains for a new stadium project to come to fruition). At the time
of writing, I am expecting to receive the final version of the plans and we are still on schedule with our initial timeline to get this installed for the new season. All being well, we should be able to share the final vision with supporters shortly and work will then begin to communicate the options for season tickets in this area.
Since our last game, we have also received some positive feedback from a number of external bodies. Firstly, we were delighted to break into the Top 10 of all clubs in the country for the Fan Engagement Index, ranking all clubs nationally on dialogue, governance and transparency. Our first placing in the Index a number of years ago was 83rd, so it has been really pleasing to see the year-on- year improvements that have been made to drive us up the league.
In addition, we were
delighted to be placed 21st in the EFL Sport Positive Leagues Matrix for our efforts to become more environmentally friendly. This will continue to be an area of focus for all clubs and we will work with all stakeholders to play our part in doing our bit to operate in as environmentally-friendly way as possible. For example, all of our Macron replica and first-team shirts are made of eco-fabric, which consists of 13 recycled bottles.
I wanted to use this opportunity to thank all our staff that have played a part in this progress. We will all continue to work every day to drive the club forward in every area.
Before go, today marks the final matchday for lain Paterson, our Head of Catering, who departs us for pastures new. lain is a Gashead and has worked incredibly hard to improve a number of parts of the matchday catering operation and we wish him all the best in the future.

Unfortunately we still lost to Pompey and the officials will carry on making the same mistakes with no apparent come backs.
I still can't see how we can get pp to erect the stand this summer.
Hopefully we're not now getting a scouse based Head of Catering!

Hopefully we're not now getting a scouse based Head of Catering! I think that it is very positive that we have dialogue with the PGMOL, rather than just moaning about things. Obviously they can only do so much to improve the standards, the referees in our league are not professionals, and, with the amount of abuse refs receive these days, from grass roots upwards, I'm sure that there is a smaller number coming through, so quality will suffer.

Or we just get the reputation of being a whinging club, probably most clubs suffer poor decisions each week do they all seek explanations?

This is very positive about the new stand. Still seems ambitious but hope he is right…

Tom does explain a lot of current events in his programme articles which feature in every league game.
So if you want to find out the latest behind the scenes news from Tom and Dave Thomas from a SC perspective, plus much more, don't forget to buy the latest edition of The Pirate next Saturday, only £3.50 by card, from your local friendly volunteer seller.
End of sales pitch!

Yes, although he gets some criticism I like the way communication has improved. I’ve been a bit outspoken on here about Wael and his unwillingness or inability to pass on information but I’ve always tried to keep TG out of it because on the couple of occasions I’ve emailed TG he has got back to me very quickly with the information or answer I was seeking. And I’d have said that TG has been very approachable and open in his role. And in his role of CEO I’d say he is improving and the way the matchday programme is being used is a way to do this. Has he put that stuff on the website? And I do like the way we’ve gradually improved in lots of ways regarding the fans, engagement and communication. Credit where credits due. Well done Tom, well done the club. 👏👏👏 UTG!

TG usually tweets it a few days after it appears in the program, you sense the website is now a thing of the past
