I was reading an article in 'When Saturday Comes' about a Maidenhead United v Wrexham match and spotted Alexis Andre was playing in goal for the home side. Looked him up and seems he is first choice for them in the National League, and also has a big social media presence! I remember his cameo debut for Rovers as a youngster, where he pulled off some great saves and we went on to get a late winner. Good to see him doing well at a decent level.

From what I hear he has millions of followers on Tik Tok, wouldn’t be at all surprised if that was more profitable for him than keeping goal in the 5th tier. Seems to be doing alright for himself, from that Walsall appearance I remember him looking a bit rabbit in the headlights where we had everyone back protecting the box. He made some routine stops & seemed to tip everything over the bar or round the post than catch the thing😂never seen the opposition have so many corners!

4.5M followers in various social platforms, that alone would have been worth more to Rovers than his wages.

He was awful. That game where he made a cameo he looked like an outfield player wearing the gloves when a real keeper went off - I felt more relaxed when Mark McChrystal went between the sticks.

I think that’s a bit harsh. It was his first and I think only professional game. He was thrown in only because of an injury crisis and he made some saves contributing to us winning the match. Good for him that he’s worked his way back up to the National league. Must be doing something right. I don’t care at all about the tik-tok stuff. I don’t even begin to understand the appeal of all that

Sam Slocombe, Adam Smith, Alexis Andre Jr.
What a trio.
We’re really spoiled for choice this season arent we?

Sam Slocombe played for Notts County against Wrexham in top of the table clash Wrexham 1 down at home went onto win 3 2. Ben Foster in goal for Wrexham, saved a penalty right at the death. I highly recommend his stuff on You Tube, lots of very interesting information on a variety of football topics, divided into relevant sections so that you can easily find what interests you.
