But we do the same, I do not know about flat out but we did have a water problem and JB was not at all happy about the pitch not having the sprinklers on it Fair comments and I have no idea Jules, they went on heavy when we went in 15 mins before the kick off, maybe the players felt the surface when they went in and assumed these studs would be ok etc. No answers on this one 🤷🏼♂️ Typical for us that was the only time a Rovers player slipped/felll over in the first half, I assume CT was taken by surprised as the goal was probably the first time Oxford got into our penalty area in the first half, we were totally dominant in that half but somehow went 1-0 down.

Way to go to motivate your team. That's just embarrassing. I think it’s easy to comment without knowing all the context of the game and how the side is playing. Before kick off Orient were in the bottom 6, and Reading had only 29% possession Saturday. This was on the way of a second away defeat on the road in a week, I guess we have to factor in time and money. What I would say is as well, we have no idea if the players are not trying for the manager and revolting in some way. Our players did this to Tisdale when we lost 6-1 to Accy, personally they were not fit to wear the shirt that night, you are still paid to do a job and the travelling fans travelled did a 400 mile round trip needing to take a half day off work. I don’t think football fans act this way unless they have a reason, you can’t just blame it on a poor side, before the game they had still won 3 and drawn 1. Something suggests to me they have stopped playing for the manager, in August they won 4-0 away against Championship Millwall. In September they beat third place Bolton 2-0 and also won 0-9 away at Exeter in the paint pot. Train to London, admission, I bet that was a £60 plus day out for the fans to see 29% possession, I’d be miffed a bit! Our 6-1 defeat was in the lock down season, so fortunately no fans travelled

Nope. That's not what I posted at all. Context. You're on a yellow with a (dodgy) ref that gets his cards out more than Paul Daniels did to impress Debbie McGee, you have to be clever and pick your challenges.... especially in a part of the pitch that don't mean jack. If you can't remain that disciplined after a harsh yellow (imo) than either don't challenge or face the consequences if you mis time. JB isn't renowned for timed challenges. He left himself open. The team paid the price because his sending off went a long way to us not winning that match when we were in the ascendancy, and handed the initiative back to Oxford. If he would have stayed out the challenge, the ball and player were going no where, and we'd have had full team for large chunk of the match. A better chance of a return. Context. Pretty certain the Oxford player was heading straight for our penalty area A bit of a plopper from Topper there. Pretty needless to lunge in

I see Oxfords second red card has been rescinded on appeal, surely we must have appealed Browns sending off.

Can’t imagine Joe Barton ever having a sending off recinded anyway.

Hard agree with this. Both feet off the floor scissor job! 🤔 Incredible he’s now available and we lose JB for a game after a minimal/zero contact with their lad for his own red card.

Read the Oxford forum and while there’s the usual sea of Barton-hate, and the odd bit of animosity to us, the more well-thought our posts are quite complimentary. Best team they’ve played has been said a few times.
Oxford are mainly claiming that for all our dominance we didn’t have many big chances and they made quite a few. That’s actually qualified criticism we share with them of our team.
Their keeper played a blinder to be fair, and their centre back ate everything all day.
We were half strength and really badly impacted by the sending off. Had brown not gone I think there was only one team scoring next. We seem to control the ball and grind teams down and look good in the last half hour. And our time was thwarted by being a man down.
One thing I think: We have not had the rub of the green in this early part. Things even out and I think we have some games later on where we, like Oxford, will be wondering how we won that game.
We are very close to a promotion side IMO. One or two windows and we are there. Might be next year though unless we really kick on now. That said; that was almost our 2nd 11 if everyone was fit.
