Morning chaps I hope you all got home safely from Dartford! I wanted to say how much I enjoyed the game yesterday as a Neutral (Dover fan) and How friendly and welcoming your fans was (was sat with about 30 Gas fans next to the dug out). To be honest that pitch was ridiculous yesterday and cannot believe the game went ahead. I look forward to having you come down to Crabble where with your respectable following could easily fit 2000 in the ground. Anyways I have written a little report into the game from a Neutrals perspective on the match (sorry didn't put you should of steam rolled Dartford) footballjourneyman.wordpress.com/2015/02/01/dartford-2-2-bristol-rovers-the-darts-share-the-spoils-with-the-pirates/

Thank you for your report always good to get a perspective from a neutral. I was in that area of the ground too. There were fans of QPR, West Ham and Gillingham in there also.

Was you in Block E Mate? I was actually set next to the Gillingham Fan in my John Motson esque coat. The only thing that got my goat about your side was your managers post match interview

I was at the end right next to the directors section and dugout. I was standing for most of the game blocking everyone's view (sorry)

"Bristol in the first half dominated proceedings as you would expect, but struggled to turn that into goals or threats bar 1 decent opportunity."
This is surely the story of our season away from home. It's OK for Darrell to rant and rave, but when it happens more often than not you must ask questions of the tactics and what is happening on the training ground.

Well the stats don't lie 66% possession but 3 shots on target all game! Dover used to play like this under Nicky Forster that eventually led to his dismissal (even in 3rd place in the conference south) was so frustrating watching the side try and walk the ball into the net!

Thanks for that but out of interest if you were writing about a Manchester club would you just refer to them as "Manchester" ?

Unless Bristol City was playing in the Conference then I would of said Rovers or so.But by the time I started referring to the side as 'Bristol' (using terms like The Gas gives this away a bit) I think you got the jist of who I was referring to it was not like my title was Dartford 2 - 2 Bristol

So a genuine thanks for that but generally we and for that matter our red cousins cannot stand being referred to as Bristol, the media do it all the time, the FA has even put the wrong Bristol in the FA Cup draw. I know we are crap at the moment compared to our most hated rivals but never ever do we want to be chucked into the "their both the same so let's call them Bristol" bin. Especially when the whole country refers to the Manchester clubs by only their second name as if they are the only clubs with that name. Sorry to have a go about that though mate because it was an excellent report. Good luck to you for the rest of the season but please can you ask your team to roll over and die for us on 18th April. I can't see us having a hope of winning otherwise. Nailed on draw might not be enough for us.

The game itself was ok first half and utter crap second half,if you found that entertaining you are easily pleased.

Each to their own really and that is the joys of this game everyone has different expectations of a match. And I referred to Leadbitter as BBC Sport credited the assist to him. Cannot wait until you lads come down Crabble you rank up there with some of my favourite supporters in the league

Don't worry every team has their things that bug them like at Dover we hate it when people add 'The' to our grounds name Crabble. Hopefully I can get as positive as a response as I have done from both sets of supporters

Thanks for that but out of interest if you were writing about a Manchester club would you just refer to them as "Manchester" ? Why nit-pick...? Neutral fan comes on and gives us his opinion and fair play for doing so. I think we have far more to worry about than whether someone calls us Bristol Rovers or Bristol. Have you seen where City82 are these days? That bothers me and the fact we are in the Conference. Thanks Naff for your viewpoint and contribution.

Thanks Naff for your viewpoint and contribution. it was a polite and simple question. how else exactly could he have asked it without out getting offended? it's a forum. things may look a tiny bit harsh on 'paper' but if he had asked that polite question in, say, a telephone call, I doubt anyone would have batted an eyelid, including you.
