Nothing much has changed since we left,I'm actually parked in twerton as I write this.
They do actually have some decent food and drink stalls in the ground,if you like drinking all game,as for the bogs,makes the Thatchers look like the hilton Hotel.

Refereed at Twerton; Bath v Barnet.Chap on visitors bench threatened me as we left at HT for refusing to give his side a penalty.I reported him and he said his name was'F------ BASIL BRUSH.'
Reported it and Barnet had to send me a team/group pic so I could pick him out.Barry Fry phoned me at work to see who it was and was Gob Smacked when I answered the phone and said ,'Stafford Police Station'.

What a great article that is. Lots of good memories. Amazing how little it has changed - we must have infected Twerton with the Rovers stagnant infrastructure curse when we were there though!
I was just a schoolkid but amazingly I never realised how deprived Twerton was - and I used to walk through the houses from Oldfield Park station to the ground every other Saturday as well. We did once have our car radio nicked on the rare occasion when my dad took me and we parked on Lower Bristol Road though. Smashed window, cold ride home to Burrington. I'm sure we weren't the only ones that happened to.

Actually Geoff,one of bath city's most loyal and dedicated followers over the last forty years is a chap called Martin brush, his brother played for West ham, Paul brush,and yeah everyone knows him as basil,it's a funny old game saint. |
