Hey Guys! A friendly pledge here, so many fond memories of games between us two, especially those 2 playoff games! Lincoln City Football Club have been told by their Bank (A National Chain) that they "no longer fit the banks customer profile" and that monies owed of £380k have to be paid back imminently or the Bank will consider seizing Club assets. I wonder if a Man Utd, Arsenal or Chelsea would be treated in the same manner? As you can probably appreciate a Club like Lincoln City just doesn't have this amount of money to hand. This is a serious financial situation that could determine the entire future of this Football Club. Please help us to reach our target and to #SaveTheImps. Save The Imps - Crowdfunder Page
Thanks, Matt

Disgusting if true. Name and shame the bank.

Disgusting if true. Name and shame the bank. Co-op bank. Sure there's two sides to every story, but any organisation you lend £380k to should be firmly in your 'customer profile' and unlikely to move out of it.

I can't talk about banks without becoming unstable.

Anyone else remember those tiny black sweets called Imps? No, but my father used to have tiny black sweets in a little tin. They were very hot and they were called nigroids, as I recall. Strangely, they seem to have disappeared! Perhaps your imps were a rebranding of them?

This has got away from the OP but Nigroids must have been a rival of Imps because they sound like the same type of confection, which I loved by the way. It looks like some other company is making them now, with a slightly different name: www.aquarterof.co.uk/mighty-imps-p-432.html These, along with Fisherman's Friends, and Victory Vs are the vindaloo and phall of the sweet world Little Imps were around long before political correctness, so no name change to them. But, using that as a lead in; the Lincoln Imps were also in existence long before political correctness started ruining day to day banter. If anyone is able to help them in any way, I hope they do.

Did you mean that referring to imps is now un-PC? Is it a nickname for short people or red people or something?

I seem to remember Imps being in a little cardboard box.

Man, I remember when banks used to provide a service to the community instead of being simply money-grubbing corporate shiithouses.
Co-op ethical policy:
"The Co-operative Bank is built on co-operative values and ethics that set us apart. Like our customers, it’s our belief that the ethical decisions we make will not only help create positive change in our communities, but the wider world too.
"Our values and ethics have always been more than words on paper. They underpin how we run our business, distinguish us in the market place and run through everything we do."

I did go on the site with the view to pledging a quid or so, but it seems they were looking for pledges of ten quid and upwards so I'll wish them good luck, but not today.

Didn't Barclays do the same to us recently? I seem to remember reading some time ago that the club had became it's own banker, however that works.
