But where would they get their players from? Abroad, I suppose. Or vast academies that would scrutinise every schoolchild from sperm to 14, discarding 99.99999% to be made into burgers. The Premier League does get virtually all its top players from abroad. And has done for the last 15 years, and every year it gets worse. Most of the good young English players are no longer developed at the highest level, but instead play in the Championship, which does not allow those potential stars of the future to become the players they might have been. They are not playing against, working with, or being managed by world-class people. As a result the England football team is doomed to mediocrity forever. EDIT - I meant to add that they do not follow our plan in Spain, Italy, or Germany, where home-grown players dominate still. The international results speak for themselves.
