Elsewhere, turnover was up to £4,328,341 from £3,819,633, but the wage bill across the company as a whole was up from about £3.2 million to £3.5 million as the board invested in a number of loan players to try to improve a season of struggle that eventually ended in relegation.
£3.5m!? I know we are still paying off JW and all, but given our Conference wage bill is meant to be around the £1m mark, this seems very high.
On the flip side, if we have reduced the wage bill, and soon won't be seeing the skidmarks of last years wages to the likes of JJOT, will we soon be trading in profit? JJOT was on £1800 more than the beard, so thats nearly £100k saved straight away...
There really isn't any excuse to be running at a loss next year given our attendances... Just set the budget at a break even figure FFS.

NH confirmed we are no longer paying John Ward.
Also remember, these figures are only valid up to June 2014. The lower wages are not reflected in these accounts.
But you are quite right that the next accounts need to be, and must be, just about breaking even, (allowing for the next tranche of legal fees we have to pay).

Our wage bill must now be significantly lower. DC mentioned in his interview yesterday about the small size of our squad and said that squad included 4 or 5 youngsters on "peanuts'.

I doubt the likes of Santos & harding were on mega wages last season? Even if we have cut our wage bill by 50% we'd still be paying double the likes of Barnet & Eastleigh who are claiming their wage bill is only around the £750K mark. The fact we've signed Blisset & Easter fairly recently doesn't suggest we poor payers in the Conference??

The likes of Constable, Midson etc would hardly of signed for them to be paid peanuts.

I'd imagine clubs like Forest Green and Eastleigh would now need to give out contracts with a relatively modest basic pay and larger bonus related pay/sign on fee, in the eventuality they got promoted into the league and the FFP rules that shortly follow.

So do you think next years accounts will shown our wage bill is below £1.5m for this season??
Whilst 12 players left we retained the 5 defenders, DC/MS who could well be on over £500K in total, Mansell, Monkhouse, Blissett & Easter are going to have demanded decent money so say £250K, then there's the likes of Sinclair plus bonuses, I aslo assume the wage budget inc catering & ground staff etc?

DC said earlier in the season our playing budget was less than 50% of last seasons. We have signed a few players since then, but others have returned and left so hard to say what it is now.

Surely only Brunt's left from the contracted players?
