Fair play, sounds a decent lad. Can't really criticise him when he was with us. Still young learning the game and gave his all.

That was a good read, nice to see such an in depth interview, rather than the usual 2 or 3 paragraphs churned out. Thanks for posting phillistine

Very refreshing to see a player who just wants to play football and is disappointing when not. Puts the likes of Scott Sinclair and these other waste of talents happy to sit on the bench picking up £££ to shame.
I remember being a bit disappointed we didn't hold on to him when he left, fair play to him and I hope he goes on to do well (after today)

Didn't offer to give us back the money he didn't EARN. The boy got paid to get us back up to league one, but along with the rest of Buckles mob, led us further down the league. He did absolutely NOTHING. I'll be letting him know how I feel about it later.

It matters to me, and Stanley will know about it today.

What is the point of "letting them know about it today". All it will do is to make them play better. Forget the past ,today is about exactly that...Today. Get behind OUR TEAM. Forget the opponents -its about us. Remember the stick Zebrowski got? Did that help us? No.Did it help him-Yes. Pell and Stanley both did their best for us but they were not considered by many to be good enough for us and left. Endof. I actually think both had their qualities but today is not about them it is about getting behind our team and getting three points.

Although perhaps if we'd had somebody like DC in charge they'd all have been different players for Rovers? Back to Pell every decision makes seems the wrong one Charlton over Arsenal, Hereford over Rovers, now dropping down to Eastleigh! The midfield battle today between Pell/Stanley & Lockyer/Mansell could determine the outcome of the game.

Has a thread been deleted tonight as the last post doesn't make any sense without the FA investigation thread, which I'm sure was here earlier? If so, this forum is becoming as bad as the OS for censorship.

I am pretty speechless.

I am pretty speechless. The fact that you don't see what Stanley represents, saddens me. Clearly you lot simply don't see it like I did. It's not Stanley as an individual. He just happened to be the first one of Buckle's jokes, to come back, since the disaster of relegation from the football league. He, like so many of the other Buckle signings, was brought in to get us promoted back to league one. Instead, they did nothing but either perform terribly or get injured to the point where we'd pay them thousands for nothing. I've explained all this on the Buckle vs Ward, Clarke & Higgs thread! So, to me, Stanley is not a tiny ''mosquito bite'' on our history... he's actually a part of a HUGE occurrence in our history. The Buckle reign & the McGhee reign after, is what lost us our Football League status. It could've been Virgo, Bevan, Gill, Zebroski, Anyinsah... any of them... It just happened to be Stanley.
