I guess nothing changes?
"Because he is a bit lazy, he is most probably on a high wage and rumours that he has a poor attitude."

I guess nothing changes? "Because he is a bit lazy, he is most probably on a high wage and rumours that he has a poor attitude." Bit harsh. there are almost 200 posts on there and you choose that one. It's fair to say they are split on the decision to let him leave. Although most people agree he's not had a good season THIS season, he has done well last season, and it will leave them pretty short. Probably the three most important things I'll take out of reading all that are - 1) That he used to spend a lot of time travelling to Burslem and would talk about Bristol / family a lot on twitter. This is important as it is linked to... 2) He doesn't handle being on the bench too well. It's important to know this as a lot of the so-called attitude problems seem to stem from 1 & 2 being put together. If a manager knows the problem he can maybe help it. Reading between the lines (no pun intended...) their manager has decided to 'deal' with it, by shipping him out. AND remember that Rob page has only been there 6 months and is putting his authority on Mickey Adams' players. 3) He had a good season last season, and some people even think he was ok until being sent off in November, so it's not as if he has been awful for several years. BTW - the wild card is that there are ALWAYS some fans who simply do not like ANY player who doesn't tackle like Norman Hunter and put himself around like The Beard.

It does all sound a bit familiar though doesn't it? Lines is a quality player who I think it's fair to say is prone to motivational lapses. If he's up for helping his hometown team get back into the league then this is a great signing.

At the end of the day, he only has to stay 'motivated' for 8 games.
And if you're not going to be motivated when joining your boyhood club at the top of the league to try and help them get promoted, then you never will.
I think this will turn out to be a massive signing for our chances this season.

Player comes back from the leagues above, considers himself billy big bollocks (I say that as a theory not a fact) and suddenly the players who were previously knuckling down under the influence of the likes of Sinclair and Mansell, might play up to the big man. In saying that, DC knows best and we have always got the best out of loan players in the short term when they arrive, before it falls apart later (JJOT being one example...)

If he plays a major part in getting us out of this league he will be a gas legend as far as I am concerned. Doubt he will be here next season. We probably couldn't afford him. So just stay motivated for a couple of months Chris.

Having said that, we have to take Lines for what he is, and not expect him to be a direct replacement for Sinclair or Mansell when he gets his next booking. Lines has more talent in his little toe than Mansell, Sinclair, Lockyer etc, but if he had their work rate and commitment (?) then he'd probably be playing in the Championship still. But it'd be mad to not give this signing a go as a Conference club seeking some flair added to the midfield.

BTW - the wild card is that there are ALWAYS some fans who simply do not like ANY player who doesn't tackle like Norman Hunter and put himself around like The Beard. Choose that one as it rang a bell from fans views when he left us and was on the 1st page, posts on the 2nd page etc seemed to suggest similar views. I can never understand why the truth hurts for Rovers fans, when Lines left us fans were questioning his attitude he's now stuck on the bench at a mid table Div 1 side wasting his obvious talent when, with a bit of effort, he could probably still be a Championship player or at least a Div 1 regular. Can he step up his game to to make his mark this season or is he on the slippery slope to oblivion? Given Lines is obviously an "old boy" you have to wonder if, like it seems Balanta was, an NH rather than DC signing, if so, just how easy is he going to fit in given Balanta can't get near a first team start.
