In Feb 2013 we beat Barnet 2-1 on a a Friday night to move out of the relegation zone. The attendance was a massive 8,527. This Friday we play Alsershot in a game that if we win, will see us go back to the top of the table. So, it's as big a game, if not bigger as it is much later in the season, yet we're unlikely to get anywhere near that 8.5K crowd. What were the factors behind is getting that amount in the Mem for Barnet? Was it the John Ward returning feel good factor or were there other reasons for the huge crowd?

Ah, I didn't realise it was a quid a kid. That will have made a big difference. The board must have thought a Friday night game would be a real money spinner other wise why move it? It will be a shame if we get a smaller crowd than the last home game.

Think it was the Edgar David's factor,as he was player manager of Barnet at the time.

all of the above i think
and we were in rele zone at the time, but could (and did) leap frog the bees with a win.
feel good factor. just won away at Fleetwood (3-0) and Rotherham (3-1). Brunt just signed. 10 points in 15 under JW.

After being on such a terrible run, we had just convincingly won 2 games on the spin away with Ward's first games in charge away from home, our away from before then was terrible and this was our first home game under Ward where at the time we were right in the sh** so desperately needed to points to try and stay up.
