This is horrible news. Without beating about the bush, when diabetes reaches the level of potential or actual amputation, it is the start of a real uphill struggle. All the best in your fight Mabbs.

Is this not old news from a while ago? The gist of the text seems to suggest that. Can remember Gary was very ill a year or so ago.

Whether it is or not is irrelevant: It is still a fact, and one that I was unaware of, so thanks to Ian for bringing it to my attention and it appears to that of others.

My sincere appologies if my post came across as "irrevelant". There was a thread on Gary Mabbutt quite sometime ago, may well have been on the old OF or the early days of this, which was at the time he was seriously ill and Spurs made a big thing of it at the time and I can remember them saying how he was recovering well and would shortly return as one of their match day hospitality hosts in the Gary Mabbutt suite at White Hart Lane. Gary was and still is a Gas legend and probably in the top three of our most successful players ever along with Larry Lloyd and Nigel Martyn, all of whom I had the pleasure of seeing playing in the quarters. UTG!
