Remember how Wycombe felt last season when we beat them? All of them writing their club off saying they were down as Mansfield were on their holidays?
I'm not saying it will happen but have a little more faith! We do our job next week and hope that Barnet will slip. If they don't then it's onto the play offs! As heartbreaking as today was I fully believe in DC to get our spirits up again for Alfreton and possibly the Play-Offs. If ever we needed encouragement to the lads, it's now.
C'MOOOON!!!!

All the odds on May 3rd pointed to Wycombe or Northampton, but fate decided it would be Rovers. Today, no one gave Kidderminster a cat in hells chance against Barnet, but they drew and nearly managed the win. We know Gateshead are no mugs, but neither are Alfreton. We go again next week with a chance and a role to play from the off. 10,000 gasheads with a real reason to get behind the team like we never have before.

Mansfield had also lost their two previous games. Including conceding 3 at home to Torquay.
Maybe, just maybe Gateshead can pull themselves together and do something similar.

Gary Mills, the Gateshead manager, is a proper idiot as well. He'll probably want to win there to give his ego a boost, so I'm sure he'll have the players drilled.

I would have fancied Gateshead to take something from Barnet more so than Kiddie before today. At the end of the day it's 11 vs 11 on the day, anything can happen. Barnet might cruise to a 4-0 win and we might struggle vs Alfreton. Maybe the Barnet goalie will have a 92nd minute howler and cost them the game while we surge to a convincing victory.
I think Barnet will win the league now but you can't give up until it's mathematically impossible. It's horrific giving it up today like we did although we are no worse off than 3pm and most expected Barnet to win today - all we can do is get behind the team next Saturday.

As much as it's completely plausible that the roles will reverse next week just like last season, I highly doubt it cos rovers never seem to work it out that way!
Fingers crossed but if not we've nothing to fear in the playoffs .

How about putting some money on us conceding a soft equaliser in the last five minutes, while you're at it? It's a mystery to me how winning £50 or £500 on a bet on the opposition somehow softens the blow of your own team losing a match, or not getting promoted. It would be the bitterest £50 quid I'd ever spent. And I wouldn't walk into a pub in Kingswood waving my wad around too much. What's the point of having money if you don't enjoy it?

Being miserable with money is better than being miserable without it surely?

I'll be putting my money on a Barnet win (as I did today!). The gambling gods will sort this out!!! This is what I did today. Not to soften any blow of them winning, more to curse them with my rotten gambling luck! It worked and I'll be doing the same next Saturday!
