So it looks like some of you have already conceded automatic promotion. I actually think it is still possible though unlikely. Maybe I am more positive than I thought.

We both need to win, Barnet have the tougher game. Anything could happen.

Whilst staying positive.... I have to say, one thing which appeals to me about the play offs is having our destiny in our own hands in front of us.
I'm utterly fed up with having to look for blo0dy Barnet's results over the last 4 months!

I haven't yet had a look at our other forum. Gawd knows howit's looking over there. I have sent my spy Henbury Gas, but he hasn't been in radio contact for some hours. I fear for him. As for OTIB. Best not mentioned. Mind you, that's true at any time.
But it's all nonsense anyway. We haven't lost it yet. It's simple. One win for us and a draw for Barnet - happy days. If not - we're in the playoffs anyway. Not ideal, but it's not like your dear old Uncle Albert died today. No need for such doom and gloom.
Some of the stuff on here reads a bit like May 2014. It's all still up in the air.

I was at the game and that was terrible. Tactically we played straight into their hands and as a result could not take advantage of the chance, the chance we all hoped Barnet would give us, to go up as champions. One shot on goal all game, terrible. Clarke sets the team up not to lose, and 16 draws and some, like today, against teams that extremely average conference level. Its all very well banging the drum of positivity, but look at the facts. I think the attendance at Dover was something like 2300 of which we were what, 1500? The atmosphere in the recommended pub before hand was great, we all trooped in, in full voice, only to be served a witless and gutless performance like that. The team set up as 4-3-3 with Matty Taylor stranded on the left wing, brilliant, we kicked the ball over Chris Line's head towards Blisset who standing alone and isolated, when he did get a touch, gave it back to Dover. Positive? I am positively convinced that Clarke's tactics have cost us automatic promotion. Armed with by far the best support in the Conference and probably some of the best resources his tactics have squandered far too many points within those draws. Terrible. Dover had nothing to play for and we made them look ok. Next week Alfreton will be fighting for their lives. Guess the formation, 5-4-1 anyone? I have tickets, but seriously wondering if its worth the effort and almost guaranteed disappointment. As I was standing with two others waiting for the cab to take us back to Folkestone station, a few old faces, seeing my barely concealed anger and disappointment at what I had just witnessed, came up to me and said "Look, you chose, years ago, to follow Bristol Rovers, we always eff it up"
True, on both counts. But now after 51 years of doing that and having witnessed the events of the last decade and a half, on and off the pitch, this match just about finished me off. That was as bad as the team that gave up under Holloway in the 1999-2000 season.

The cold light of day, which as I write it nearly is, has in the past reinvigorated me. But this time I think I have had enough. Perpetual failure is becoming tedious, and gutless, witless, under achievement even more so.

What a peculiar thread??? Titled STAY POSITIVE and then "Wembley" . That is not at all positive as a positive outlook will be us beating Alfreton and Barnet failing to beat Gateshead. WE CAN STILL DO THIS!!!!

"We're the famous Bristol Rovers and we're going to Wembley, Wembley, Wembley................................." That's not bloody positive! Positive is believing we will be champions Saturday and won't give a **** about Wembley.

WE CAN STILL DO THIS!!!! I am far more positive than most on this forum, but I'm also a realist. We can still do it, but personally I just cannot give myself that illusion of hope, especially after last Saturday. I'm heading towards the last match with no expectation of winning the league, so that if we don't, then I don't fall into yet another pit of depression. If we do win, then it's unexpected, and party time, but I refuse to allow myself to get hyped up about it.
