Yes, it was in our hands for part of the match yesterday, but if our fans are saying we bottled it then surely Barnet did too. Our game was a lot tougher than theirs, Kidderminster are way out of form. I think the fact that Barnet are struggling to score lately shows that the pressure is getting to them. If you take away the circumstance, that we threw away a lead and they come back to draw and look at both results purely on their own, then our result was better. Dover's home form was the 4th best in the league before yesterday.
Barnet could have won the league yesterday if they had won but they still have the pressure of going into next week and they still have to put the ball in the back of the net at least once. It also sounds as though Gary Mills and Darrell Clarke get along quite well, so you'd like to think he'll be motivating his players to get a result to help his mate out.
So, we go again next week gasheads. No hiding place now, we need to continue getting behind the lads and hope that we can get the win required and hope that Barnet buckle under the pressure.
It may seem all doom and gloom right now, it may even next week but I can guarantee as soon as Sinclair is back for the potential playoffs, then that alone will give our fans a massive lift, just like we will get a massive lift if we get through the semis of the playoffs and get to Wembley.
COME ON ROVERS!!! COME ON YOU BLUES!!!!!!!

Barnet will be far more devastated than we are, end of. 1 goal away from finishing it.
we go again, there will be another twist in the tail!
Also i am happier that Alfreton need to beat us to have a chance of staying up. game will be far more open and will suit us instead of them having 10men behind the ball for 90mins having nothing more to play for other than trying to stop a bigger club achieve promotion.

Although I think Barnet will still feel they're in the box seat. I think they'll see us not winning, especially letting in such a late goal as a bonus. From the sound of it yesterday the footballing Gods were against Barnet. Miss from one yard. Akinde hits the crossbar....... Although Kiddy player did break through and have a one on one with the keeper, which the keeper saved. Let's hope the footballing Gods are on our side next week.

They won't be more devastated - but they will be feeling soooooo relieved. They got out of jail yesterday - but they didn't do it themselves, they needed assistance from us

barnet would've been deflated after their draw yesterday, but i'm pretty sure they perked up pretty f@cking quickly when they heard our result.
lets be real about this, it was barnet who got the 'get out of jail free card' yesterday.... not us....

Still barnets to lose, has been since the 10 point gap and look at them now. I suspect they won't f**k it up again, but we've still got to win for pride, momentum and possibility! Gonna be one hell of a Saturday night

This, unfortunately. It was in our hands with 5 minutes to go and we screwed it up. End of, really.

Barnet are in the same place they were. Which means they'll feel the same pressure they did against Kiddy. They still should have beat Kiddy and a win with our result would have won them the league. There is still a chance that the pressure can tell next week, we just better bloody win to try and capatilise.

Had we scored late to equalise, while Kiddy scored late to do the same thing, then it would feel a lot different. After a while though, the order matters a lot less than the result, eg, looking back our draw at Halifax gave us the same point that Barnet's draw at Halifax gave them, but at the time, ours felt much better.

Yesterday's reaction was one with quite a bit of emotion thrown in to be fair. Was gutted at 5pm after we threw it away, if we're being honest. But, if anything the only thing that has gone against us is that we've lost one more game in which to pip Barnet. Gateshead are a far better side than Kiddy based on our experiences this season, and touch wood Alfreton are a worse side than Dover.
Let's not forget, the one positive of yesterday's events is that the pressure will now be ALL on Barnet. Large crowd, live on TV, late kick-off. The pressure will build and build, and if Allen didn't think they dealt with the pressure yesterday, how will they deal with it on Saturday?! We can go out there and play our natural game, and if Gateshead can hold Barnet or god forbid take the lead it is going to be an interesting afternoon.
I don't particularly expect us to do it next week, but what a way to rectify last season's events if we do.
EDIT: Also, I'm not one for particularly studying forums - but theirs today reminds me a bit of ours on 26th April 2014.

But they knew that in the first place, they almost choked it then. They're in the box seat like they have been all season and they still dropped 11 point lead to us. We still have a shot, a small one but as we should know, the expected result on the last day isn't necessarily the result that happens.

Not too sure about the footballing Gods being against Barnet though. Apparently their goalkeeper was only given a yellow for handball outside the box. Even the Barnet fans thought he should have gone. Perhaps the Gods will even it up next week???

Pretty sure if I was a barnet fan I would be feeling annoyed and relieved all at the same time. Their only saving grace is its still in their own hands although they now have a more difficult fixture left whilst we have an easier one although we can only win and hope it's enough. Bottom line is if someone had offered this last game scenario at the start of the season I would have bitten their hand off !

I'd be more than surprised if they don't put it to bed next week. Just as I would have been if we were in the same position going into next week. It's not like last season where we needed a result to stay up. They are top and home. They will get the job done.
Really hope I'm wrong though of course.
Predictions: we win by 3 or more but they're already 2 up at HT. you can't beat a playoff final though!

It made me laugh as we were walking out I heard one fan say "Even if we had won, we would have drew next week". Got to admit I had a little chuckle to myself at that, he'd probably be right lol!
I think with the pressure being off us a bit more now next week then it could play in our hands, we have to hope Barnet slip up though obviously. An early goal would certainly make Barnet nervous.

Just got a feeling Gateshead don't care anymore. They've conceded 7 goals in 2 games and they're playing the team who's scored the most goals... Away from home too! Unlikely but if gateshead get the first goal then who knows
