Yesterday was bloody devastating. We all are massively gutted by it and i'm sure we've got more stress to come.
But at the end of the day, most of us expected Barnet to get three points against the opposition we comfortably put away two weeks ago.
Barnet could have won the league yesterday with our result and a win, but as Martin Allen alluded, the pressure got to them yesterday. Don't get me wrong, I still expect them to win the league, but they'll be feeling the pressure next week just as much. Granted, they're home, but I rate Gateshead as a team over Kidderminster and I do believe on their day, they are as good as a lot of the better teams in this league.
There are still twists and turns left, i'm sure. But we need to put yesterday behind us, because if we had both won yesterday, we'd probably feel okay about it because it was what most of us were expecting. Unfortunately, we dropped a big oppurtunity, but on the flip side most of us would have thought that had we dropped points against Dover, that the league would have been Barnets.
As I've said before, I still have to believe that Rovers give us these bad moments so that when we get a payoff it tastes so much sweeter. Lets hope that we get that payoff next week, and if not, we've still got a good shot in the playoffs.

I believe that karma will see us take and retain top spot for the final 20 minutes of the season.

The OP is right about feeling better if we had both won yesterday but in reality I guess how it turned out is actually more encouraging.
Barnet didn't win against opposition that we pretty much hammered on the same ground two weeks ago. That shows that it is by far from a foregone conclusion that they will beat Gateshead next week.
We had the much harder game yesterday and they are playing against a better team next week than we are.

One slight fly in the ointment of your logic is that Barnet are playing a team preparing for their holidays - the Gas are playing a team fighting for their Conference survival. Yesterday was an unexpected chance to get top spot and we failed to take it. But football is full of surprises and we just have to look at last season to see that teams with nothing to play for can cause a surprise.
