He is too short to be a keeper.

Where was our marking on that man though? We shouldn't be leaving our keeper exposed like that.

And we didn't do anywhere near enough to stop the cross coming in, it may well have been a foul but it was still an avoidable situation simple as

He is too short to be a keeper. What was Mildenhall's excuse when he did exactly the same at, I think, Dartford? it's just our luck the first time Puddy fumble's a cross this season it's 3 mins away from us virtually being promoted!!

He was being pushed. Did you not see it. Still doesnt detract from the fact that Puddy is too short to be a keeper.

Tbone, I actually agree with you and was very surprised to find out he was 6ft tall as he appears very short. Personally I think we have to stick with him next week and see how it goes but whether we go up or not I would be looking to get a new taller keeper in as I don't see Mildenhall being offered an acceptable contract next season. I would be quite happy to keep Puddy as No 2.

I hope and expect to see Mildenhall back next Saturday.
Puddy has done well, but it's time for the more experienced keeper

Was not there yesterday and have yet to see the "mistake" so can not pass judgement on it. However although Mildenhall did make a couple of mistakes, people forget some of the crucial saves he had to make in a lot of games this season , saves in my opinion that had helped us put points on the board when without them we would have dropped quite a few more. Its true to say Puddy has kept quite a few clean sheets but our defence has definately improved noticeably and protected Puddy far better than they did Mildenhall especially in the first half of the season. I can hardly remember Puddy having to make anything other than routine saves in recent times. Bring back the big keeper I say, otherwise our potential opponents in the play offs, if that is what happens will try and capitalise on any lack of confidence Puddy may well have after Saturdays game.

IMO head needs to rule heart and bring back Mildenhall. Trouble with DC he likes to accommodate players. With his head yesterday, he would have gone 442 and played Dawson on the wing, with Harrison plus one up front. Instead he did not have the balls, so played three strkers. Blisett could not win his headers and there was no attaking threat on the wings.

To be fair Puddy got us a point at Maccelsfield but having said that I noticed when he came how short he looked. Not been a problem up to now though I guess and looks as confident on crosses as I can remember a keeper at rovers being in recent years.

I reckon he is 6ft in studs tbh. Saw him in town and he was from what I could tell shorter than me and I scrape 6ft. In my experience studs add anywhere from an inch and a half to two.

Is this a joke, how can a stud make somebody 2 inches taller? Although it's odd how after one error suddenly Puddy's height is an issue. As far as our defence being stronger with Puddy behind it given its the same back 4 perhaps it's something to do with Puddy giving them more confidence?

On a firm pitch and wearing moulds not blades (which in my experience keepers typically wear regardless of weather) your height can be increased that much. I play on 3g (firm as) and am 6''1.5 in boots then as I said earlier barely 6 with no shoes on.

I play every week on 3g in blades and am 1.5'' taller in them compared to no shoes on. This doesn't mean Puddy neccesarily is etc but I'm just saying.

BTW- i think we've seen some really good goalies against us this season.
Might be worth having a proper look at a few of them?
The Bath City goalie was superb.

We've done the puddy height thing before! There is no way in hell he is at least 6ft tall! Someone needs to measure the ducker officially cos we've had quotes of up to 6ft 2" in the past which makes Milders an 8 footer and me hung bigger than Mandingo

[br To leave Dawson out our best winger in the squad in a must win game in his last game on loan where he would most probably of played out of his skin and given his all because it's his last game, and to leave him out is bizarre. I heard it was because DC wanted to have the ones ready for next week when dawson goes and has them full of confidence and to be ready if called upon. But no doubt if he had played against Dover we would of created so many more chances out wide as her would of offered an outlet we needed and that overload of crosses into the box the strikers needed. It was screaming out for dawson and leadbitter down that right hand side on Saturday.
