Got two seats in the South Stand, looking forward to it. Told my friend that, as it's the final game of the season, the pasty's will be served by Butlers in the Buff. Where abouts in the south stand in the seated bit

...It's still hard to believe how part time clubs after a full season can still compete with a full time one. You'd think by now they have run out of steam & struggled with injuries etc. I'd struggle to run around my garden let alone take on professional footballers after a full week at work! TBH most of the part-time clubs have struggled at the end of the season. Dover & Woking have done well, but most PT clubs are near the bottom / getting relegated. Gateshead are down to bones, Southport have so many suspensions it's a joke, several teams have only had 3 or 4 on the bench, Braintree have dropped like a stone compared to last season and now lost their manager, Macc have found it all too much for them, Halifax have steadily slipped down the table.

Have my ticket already thanks, as for frigging in the rigging Id rather that than shag a sheep which as we know is the most popular activity in Merthyr. Hope you don't gat an ugly one! all the sheep are ugly in Merthyr fella but the women are even worse, you tend to keep that in mind when getting a bit of 'push back' from a cliff edge, if you know what I mean ;-) I once went to a strip club in Merthyr, there was a bloke in there shearing a sheep. Or was it Auckland? I forget. I'll get me sheepskin coat.

I have no sympathy for people who cannot get a ticket, lets face it if they were all "true" supporters we would have a sell out every week You shouldn't question somebody's passion for Rovers based on whether or not they could get their hands on a ticket. I've been to as many home games as I could this season, but by the time I had enough money in my account for an Alfreton ticket the only ones left were for the God-awful extended terrace thing that the club have arranged on the basis of Alfreton taking so few to Bristol. If I had it my way I'd be going to watch the Alfreton game with a Blackthorn season ticket - the reality is that even going to home games (travel included) sets me back about £25-30, and that's with the cheapest Blackthorn ticket available. I can't afford to do that each week, does my financial situation alone make me any less of a Gashead than you? Don't feed 'em!

Alfreton have only sold 100 tickets surely we could sell a few more tickets in the South Stand which with the segregation means a lot of empty seats !

you get the odd rendition of Irene but mostly you look over at the blackthorn in envy. Oh yeah we do clap our hands when the blackthorn lot sing "all hate Bristol City". "Dribuild, give us a song" was my fav Southport moment. John 1.46 - “Can anything good come out of the Dribuild?”

Sorry, but thats how I feel It's not as consistently loud as it was but that's true for all stands in all grounds these days, isn't it?. Even so, it's still capable of producing a great atmosphere now and then - the game where we beat Barnet in stoppage time under the lights was one of the best I've seen

Make no mistake, if we somehow do it on Saturday, the atmosphere will live with all of us until the day we die. It'll be something to behold.

I work offshore and just been told our helicopter has been put back to sat when I was due off tomorrow , gutted I can't be there now . Sorry, but thats how I feel not sure what that means. the thing people forget about the Blackthorn is that it really is a total mix of people. it is NOT just all the singers, and /or all the young 'uns. There are loads of older people in there, and loads of kids. A real mix. And since when was it their job to do all the singing for the entire stadium? It's not exactly a contract you sign as you go through the turnstiles. there are little sections all along as well. The older, Tote enders (moaners - LOL) by the Police cabin/ family stand, the singers/young 'uns mainly in the middle [but not as simple as that], and quite genteel and spacious towards the turnstiles / Centenary terrace. It's a dreadful view so you have to have a bit of a sing-song / laugh /rant (delete as applicable) Some people simply go there because it has a roof! as someone said 'All life can be found in the Blackthorn'.

"Dribuild, give us a song" was my fav Southport moment. It did feel like a bit of a missed opportunity not to also have a go at the admittedly tricky and not particularly catchy, "brunel professional risks stand, give us a song"
