Here's a thought for you guys,as you can imagine things could go crazy tomorrow, especially if we scored a late winner and say Barnet were already loosing. I don't think the crowd could contain themselves and ultimately a huge pitch invasion would ensue. But could you imagine if the conference then cited us with a 3 point deduction!!!!!!! I genuinely believe I would suffer a bout of depression that not even the most vigorous poo tug could cure. I know it's over the top but it would be ironic. There will be a pitch invasion tomorow I guarantee it and if it does play out like the first part of my scenario, then you could possibly see even me swinging naked by my tonker, legs akimbo, by the crossbar in front of the Blackthorn end. Keep your eyes peeled. UTG!!!!!

Hopefully if there is an invasion noone punches a horse or anything silly eh.

Absolutely no need for that, especially since they are likely going down, and we know how that feels.

Yeah last thing you want having just been relegated is a mad naked bloke from Merthyr running across a field towards you.

No team has ever been docked points for a pitch invasion. Unless it got really silly no action will be taken

Yes but there is no precedent to do so. It would be 2020 before the court cases/appeals are settled for trying to stop a club from being promoted for an invasion. But you are right, this is Rovers

No team has ever been docked points for a pitch invasion. Unless it got really silly no action will be taken The Conference bigwigs would deduct points in the blink of an eye in our case. I'm sure they love having The Rovers in the conference. If they could find a way of keeping us here for a few years they'd do it. In fact I've heard that if the pasties aren't the right temperature today that'll lead to a points deduction. Do not go on the pitch. Please.

I must admit I've been on a few pitches in my time. One I always regret is not getting on the pitch at Wembley. When I was 13/14 my brother took me to see England play Finland. It was the days of the wooden benches. Our "seat" was about 3 rows from the front. Quite a few people went on the pitch.
A few times at Eastville and loads at Twerton.
Every year at the Mariners we have an organised pitch invasion. We have to wait until about 10 minutes after the final whistle. Then they open the gates and you walk past a steward who has a bucket. You chuck a dollar or two in and get on the pitch. This year the money went to a camp for under privileged kids. They cordon off an area down near the tunnel and the majority of the players hang around for autographs. This year they took the goalposts down before we were allowed on though.
Despite some pretty memorable nights at the Mariners we've never had a "proper" pitch invasion. The players will do a lap of honour stopping for pics and autographs. At the last game our captain retired. We waited half an hour to get an autograph and he was only about a quarter of the way around the pitch at that stage.
No way could I pay a $5000 fine these days.

Was that Finland game in 1976, Pete?
I was at that one. I went up on a coach from the erstwhile Glasscutter.
Donnie Gillies was on the coach......obviously winding everyone else up by being a Finland "fan" He was still a shed player at that time.
I was sat further back up the coach and wanted to get off at one point. He was lying across two seats on the coach, with his middle parts in the gangway, as I reached him I lifted my foot as if to stamp down. His response was all that one would expect from a hard tackling full back
Oh, and if it was that game, it was dire: England only won 2-1
The happy memory of it for me is that I was soooo much slimmer in those days (even bordering on fit). My mate and I did not have tickets, so we squeezed through the lattice gates to get into the game.

The first & last time I was on the pitch at home was Vs Brentford, we beat 'em 2-1 after having Penny sent off in the first 10mins, then went 1 down, think Hayles scored the winner with about 5 mins to go, play-offs awaited us...

1976 sounds right. I thought it might have been 2-0, but nevermind. Donnie Gillies bought an old house and did it up, which I drove past everyday when I went to work. I think it was Hallitrow. Quite often I'd see him out and about. When he signed for The Rovers he got me tickets a couple of times. Nice bloke, once he wore the quarters of course. I remember not long after he signed we played Exeter away and when we sang "If you all hate the other lot clap your hands" he was clapping his hands above his head.

Never have never will.
