Ian Holtbury didn't seem to know what was going on when I spoke to him and he runs the stadium!? Website information was good but when we arrived at the ground, no signs to direct fans. Basic communication that's all we ask for, same people making the same mistakes. A basic priority system, Season tickets with last 4 away ticket stubs would have been good enough. And throughout the day gradually reduce it to 3 away, 2 away... Sold out to the ones that travel further than a hour and half up the road. #rant #tired #earlystart

This is my first post on this forum.
If you did not get tickets then my sympathy but in reality, surely it was not beyond the realms of possibility that demand would outstrip supply? First law of commerce, supply and demand.
No point pointing fingers at people to blame, Ian Holtby in particular. The club appeared to apply a fairly straight forward technique, turn up, queue, pay, go.
The raffle tickets were merely to do a quick head count of ticket demand once the queue reached a few hundred. Sensible in my opinion. Each person in the queue, starting from the front was issued with a numbered ticket once voucher J was viewed, not a lottery or guarantee but sensible management, albeit Heath Robinson.
As to allocating tickets on the amount of away games attended is ridiculous. First come, first served based upon season tickets, not away attendances.
For what it's worth and I can say this as I have both away and home tickets in my clammy hand, I have been to every game this season, home and away, cup and league. Does that make me more deserving?
No chance, pot luck and the initiative to be at the very front of the queue from very, very early this morning got me the tickets.
Could not get my head around people rocking up at 1130+ thinking they were going to get a share of 750 tickets.

When there are 3000 season ticket holders for only 750 tickets then I dont think a free for all is fare. Season ticket holders who have attended the most away games (like yourself) should get first choice. That way you would have had a few hours before the next level of priority to go and get your tickets without having to queue for hours. There have been many people who have attended many away games that missed out it wouldnt suprise me if the odd season ticket holder who has only been to one or two (or maybe even no) away games this season has managed to get a ticket by joining a queue early. So yes I do think you are more deserving!

If it was that easy then explain to me why many people rocked up at half 11 and still managed to walk away with a ticket? The raffle tickets were not given in order of people who turned up. And infact many people who were given the raffle tickets were told forest green tickets were already sold out once they got into the shop! I'm sorry but on this occasion no one can possibly try to protect the club from blame. It's was a complete f*ck up on thier part. I understand that when there's more people than tickets people were always going to be left dissapointed. But people who had turned up early missed out to people who just turned up for near the opening time.

Can not get my head around the previous post. If people "rocked up at 1130", how could they have obtained away tickets without jumping the queue? On top of that with only 750 for FGR away available, its hardly rocket science to work out all season ticket holders are not going to get a ticket. I am a season ticket holder living a 100 miles from Bristol and although someone offered to take my ST and get me an away ticket I might add this person was getting tickets for several other ST holders, I declined and settled for a home ticket. Why?, having driven to Bristol for the Alfreton game and doing the same next Sunday and hopefully then to Wembley, I just did not fancy a trip on a Wednesday night, safe in the knowledge 750 gasheads will be there to represent our club and by that I mean the team and all gasheads wherever they may be.. I hope my comments make me no worse a gashead than someone who can find the time and money to attend all games home and away. And finally to all attending at the Lawns, have a great night and UTG!
