Out of interest, what is the conference playoff final record attendance? Play-off final attendances. I think it's safe to say we should break the record. For the record I reckon we'll bring about 17000ish, I'll be surprised if we top 20k 2003 Dagenham & Redbridge 2–3 Doncaster Rovers, Britannia Stadium, Stoke-on-Trent 13,092 2004 Aldershot Town 1–1 Shrewsbury Town, Britannia Stadium, Stoke-on-Trent 19,216 2005 Stevenage Borough 0–1 Carlisle United Britannia Stadium, Stoke-on-Trent : 13,422 2006 Halifax Town 2–3 Hereford United Walkers Stadium, Leicester 15,499 2007 Exeter City 1–2 Morecambe Wembley Stadium, London 40,043 2008 Cambridge United 0–1 Exeter City Wembley Stadium, London : 42,511 2009 Cambridge United 0–2 Torquay United Wembley Stadium, London : 35,089 2010 Oxford United 3–1 York City Wembley Stadium, London 42,6692011 AFC Wimbledon 0–0 Luton Town City of Manchester Stadium, Manchester 18,195 2012 Luton Town 1–2 York City Wembley Stadium, London 39,265 2013 Wrexham 0–2 Newport County Wembley Stadium, London 16,346 2014 Cambridge United 2–1 Gateshead Wembley Stadium, London 19,613

Out of interest, what is the conference playoff final record attendance? I know you're talking Conference but as we hold the L2 record according to wiki Highest attendance: 61,589 – Bristol Rovers vs Shrewsbury Town (Final, 2007) I would have liked us to have beaten that as we are both well supported teams. So to be honest feel a bit gutted if we don't exceed that this time. Believe 35k gas 20k Fish so 55k including neutrals

There seems to be a lot of guesstimates re tickets sold - top tier tickets are now at a trickle and cannot envisage thousands more now being sold unless the weekend brings another surge in sales??? Grimsby have sold about 8000 apparently. I think total attendance could be just under 50000??with possibly 30000 Rovers if sales pick up over the weekend.

36.5k sold to date per the Conference at 5pm yesterday.
Rovers confirmed we had sold 21.5k on Thursday. I therefore think we'll end up taking 25-30k.
Grimsby last update was 6k, presumably they'll get to something like 15k? Maybe 5k neutrals (God knows why!). Therefore, I reckon it'll end at around 50k.
As someone who was desperate to get their tickets sorted, really can't understand why some people wait to buy their tickets. Just logistically getting hold of the tickets makes buying next week problematic?

I am not even sure if we will make it to 30k now which is a real shame. I just hope that a few more will buy over the weekend but once we see the update on Monday morning that'll almost be it. I would like to think we will beat the record, but it'll be by a small margin. 45k my guess.

If it helps with the question of who would go to this game as a neutral, then I bought a Big Day Out voucher in February. I'm a Nottingham Forest fan who lives in SE London and gets to as many Welling games as I do Forest games these days. I'm really looking forward to this final. I have been hoping it would come down to a Bristol Rovers v Grimsby Town final - two well supported clubs who could create a cracking atmosphere. 42,600 for Oxford v York in 2010 is the record attendance for a Conference Play-Off Final. The Conference must be expecting that to be beaten this year. Could it be a record non-league crowd? I’m not sure what that is. Play-Off Finals are usually exciting games of football with so much at stake. Players and the fans seem genuinely excited to be there, which you can't guarantee with a cup final for say Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City, etc or even an England match. I'd have been watching on TV anyway, but for £10 (I’m surprised to see the prices advertised now, as my £10 voucher says ‘half price’) and an easy trip on the Jubilee Line you can’t really go wrong. And Forest have shown no signs of going anywhere near Wembley for twenty years. We used up all our good karma in one go under Clough. I think I’d like to see Bristol Rovers win really. The team has deserved it over the course of the season. And when you’re averaging over 6.5k for a Conference season, it looks like the fans do too. Also, as a bit of a Welling fan, you made our last day of the season a lot more enjoyable than it otherwise might have been by putting Alfreton away by half-time. However unlike you guys, I’d like to a see a 4-4 draw and a penalty shoot out first. Oh, I’m taking my Dad, who is a Notts County fan. The only other Conference game I’ve taken him to was Rovers’ 0-0 draw with Welling before Christmas. He doesn’t care, but you can still hear some Notts County fans sing about not liking Bristol Rovers. I was ten at the 1990 Leyland Daf semi-final second leg between Notts and Rovers at Meadow Lane, where I think that stems from. 1-0 down from the first, Phil Stant scored a header for County in the last minute only for the Brian Hill to disallow it. At the time, Notts had never played at Wembley, there had been a decent crowd and lot of them spilled on to the pitch at the end. My brother, a couple of friends and I all followed as it looked like a fun thing to do. Warnock was doing his usual and going ballistic, and the County fans were giving Hill some stick. Then we heard a noise, looked around and saw a load of Bristol Rovers fans had opened the gate and were running toward us. We legged it in separate directions and ended up in different stands. Took my Dad ages to find us all after the match. Both teams ended up playing at Wembley and going up that year in the end. Anyway sorry, that’s a lot of waffle. But hopefully that helps answer that question. Football nerds are going in the neutral zone. Looking forward to it. Good luck. Enjoy the day. Quality read , also you have my apologies as I was 1 of those who took to the pitch to have it with the Notts county fans that had come onto the pitch , at that time I was an easily led 19 year old intent on violence. ?

It looks like Gasheads bought up a lot of the neutral seats after the decent seats in the Rovers end sold out. If so, the official Rovers attendance wil be signifcantly below the actual number of Gasheads at Wembley. It will be interesting to see how many blue and white quartered shirts will be in the neutral section.

It was definitely a foul. The ref was right. That seems strange to me that you support a different team to your Dad. My Grandad was a Rovers fan. Then my Mum, then me and despite living half way around the world my son asks about the Rovers, and wears a Rovers shirt. I was sat next to a Forest fan at a Central Coast Mariner v Sydney FC game. He'd come up from Sydney to watch with his mate from the Central Coast. Really nice bloke. Had a great chat during the game. I hope you enjoy your day, and we win.

We have had a grievance with Notts County too. In the season we first got relegated to div 4/league 2 we were 1-0 up at Meadow Lane with only a few mins to go. Our keeper put the ball out of play because there was an injured player on the floor in front of him but instead of Notts County following etiquette and returning the ball to us the kept it and went on to score..... had we not lost those 2 points we would not have been relegated and our last 15 years history could have been oh so different. ...

I picked up our Wembley tickets yesterday. Welling have only sold 17 vouchers . Hardly surprisingly that when you consider there were almost as many Bristol Rovers fans at the Alfreton game a couple of weeks ago as there have been Welling fans through the turnstiles at Park View Road all season. They did though seem to have a fair few for local schools and junior football teams too. Perhaps the latter could be where a lot of neutral fans come from? No worries to the guy who chased me off the Meadow Lane pitch in 1990 (it is amazing who you can re-connect with on the internet . Cheers. It was all part of the fun. It is probably what makes that one still memorable twenty five years on. If I remember correctly, there was a great atmosphere at the league game between the two a few weeks later as a result of the end of that semi-final too. It was a good rivalry for a short time, some good players and two managers on their way up. And yes, my Dad made an error in taking me to my first game of football at Forest rather than County, as a birthday present. That's how that happened. I got to watch both teams for a while. They were a good few years for both clubs...and Bristol Rovers too. It has been a bit bleak for all of us in the last fifteen years. I think we're all due a change of fortunes any time now.

28,000 Gasheads 20,000 Grimsby Looks like I'm going to be pretty much spot on with the Rovers following, not sure if Grimsby will get to the 20k mark though.
