28,000 Gasheads 20,000 Grimsby Reckon that'll be there or thereabouts. Really can't see us taking 40,000 again, due to it being the conference play off final and high ticket prices. I also think that we wouldn't even be given that many tickets. We'll see though, I could be surprised.

Should probably have a tiebreaker just in case two people guess correctly. Something along the lines of how many sad Sh1!heads will be in the Grimsby end on the day...

If it helps with the question of who would go to this game as a neutral, then I bought a Big Day Out voucher in February. I'm a Nottingham Forest fan who lives in SE London and gets to as many Welling games as I do Forest games these days. I'm really looking forward to this final. I have been hoping it would come down to a Bristol Rovers v Grimsby Town final - two well supported clubs who could create a cracking atmosphere. 42,600 for Oxford v York in 2010 is the record attendance for a Conference Play-Off Final. The Conference must be expecting that to be beaten this year. Could it be a record non-league crowd? I’m not sure what that is.
Play-Off Finals are usually exciting games of football with so much at stake. Players and the fans seem genuinely excited to be there, which you can't guarantee with a cup final for say Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City, etc or even an England match. I'd have been watching on TV anyway, but for £10 (I’m surprised to see the prices advertised now, as my £10 voucher says ‘half price’) and an easy trip on the Jubilee Line you can’t really go wrong. And Forest have shown no signs of going anywhere near Wembley for twenty years. We used up all our good karma in one go under Clough.
I think I’d like to see Bristol Rovers win really. The team has deserved it over the course of the season. And when you’re averaging over 6.5k for a Conference season, it looks like the fans do too. Also, as a bit of a Welling fan, you made our last day of the season a lot more enjoyable than it otherwise might have been by putting Alfreton away by half-time. However unlike you guys, I’d like to a see a 4-4 draw and a penalty shoot out first.
Oh, I’m taking my Dad, who is a Notts County fan. The only other Conference game I’ve taken him to was Rovers’ 0-0 draw with Welling before Christmas. He doesn’t care, but you can still hear some Notts County fans sing about not liking Bristol Rovers. I was ten at the 1990 Leyland Daf semi-final second leg between Notts and Rovers at Meadow Lane, where I think that stems from. 1-0 down from the first, Phil Stant scored a header for County in the last minute only for the Brian Hill to disallow it. At the time, Notts had never played at Wembley, there had been a decent crowd and lot of them spilled on to the pitch at the end. My brother, a couple of friends and I all followed as it looked like a fun thing to do. Warnock was doing his usual and going ballistic, and the County fans were giving Hill some stick. Then we heard a noise, looked around and saw a load of Bristol Rovers fans had opened the gate and were running toward us. We legged it in separate directions and ended up in different stands. Took my Dad ages to find us all after the match. Both teams ended up playing at Wembley and going up that year in the end.
Anyway sorry, that’s a lot of waffle. But hopefully that helps answer that question. Football nerds are going in the neutral zone. Looking forward to it.
Good luck. Enjoy the day.
