Well people were preficting 30k Gas and 20k Grimsby total at one stage before sales started - think we will do 35k at least now but not sure Grimsby will make let alone exceed 20k based on current sales unless they are waiting for the boat to come in and there will be a late rush !!

I suspect we'll be none the wiser until the game kicks off considering the conference twitter account's unhelpful updates. They can't even seem to clarify if the daily sales updates include the BDO tickets!

If we're currently on around 21K then I don't see us getting much over 30K tbh, if at all. Surely today will be the last day of significant sales with the number just trickling upwards after today. People generally want to get their tickets ordered and secured and I'd imagine most would do so in the first 2 days of general sale. I hope I'm wrong and we still break the 35K mark but even if we don't, were still going to way outnumber the fishy people which will be intimidating for them. Outnumbering the other fans means nothing btw. We would be in the 2nd tier(of English football) if that factor counted.

Ticket sales will slow up now probably - however some people might have decided to stay clear of the initial rush and also may get tickets over the weekend when they have more time. It would be great to get 30000+ - Grimsby seem to think they will sell a lot of tickets this weekend and seem very confident of 15000+. A crowd of 45-50 thousand would be great for a conference final. Oh I forgot about the neutrals -50000 perhaps!!!

But would our triumph back in '07 have been such an amazing and memorable occasion without the 40k gasheads going mental as the third goal went in? You could say 'yes' but it wouldn't have felt QUITE the same for me if there were only 15k there and empty seats all around me. It was the gas army that was the cherry on the cake I reckon..

That's true, but it can give the team a lift when needed, and it makes it more fun on the terraces - whatever the result

Give the team a lift? Not for Rovers it doesn't, unless your memory only stretches back 1 season? More fun? Hey, if we win it matters little how many are on the terrace. In fact the most fun is often had away from home in lesser numbers. You could also argue that bigger numbers for us have hampered the team in the past. We went on a bad run of fan promotion games with bumper crowds and fell short pretty much every time! Look. Let's just enjoy the occasion without getting carried away prematurely. I wasn't at Wembley 2007 since I only started supporting last week when we got in the playoffs, I was a Yeovil fan.

It is physically possible as people could even book on net on sat and collect at box office, but what about transport? I get a feeling not many going for Grims. Only sold 6k for their play-off semi-final. Longer way than Bristol, and their casuals had their 'day out' 2 seasons ago. Expensive tickets in a poor area. Not a recipe for a large turnout.

Whilst there was a mad rush for tickets from the Rovers fans - Grimsby know that they will not selll out their quota and so it is likely that many people are waiting for the weekend when they can buy them at their leisure rather than trying to do so whilst at work . I suspect that ticket sales for both will pick up this weekend

Yeah I doubt outnumbering their fans will intimidate the Grimsby players at all - but I suspect it will give our players one hell of a boost as they run out, and in the closing stages of the game when they've run themselves into the ground and need some inspiration..!

On the flip side it could put extra pressure on them? After all if no of fans = success Barnet wouldn't be Champions?

Someone on Facebook just worked out we've sold around 24,000. Not sure how true that is but seems pretty accurate looking at the blocks we've sold.

Have to say that I'm rather surprised and disappointed about the number of tickets we've sold, especially after our average away attendance this season. Initially I thought we'd take about 17-18k but the way it's looking at the minute we'll be lucky to shift 15k. I just bought 15 tickets at lunchtime and had no problem getting in Block 110 behind the goal, although that was 3 rows together of 5 seats. I can offer up a few reasons why our tickets sales have been so poor but there shouldn't really be any excuse for what I reckon is the most important game in our history. We were at Wembley only 2 seasons ago in the FA Trophy final and also the further distance we need to travel, but a big factor is that due to engineering works the first train out of Grimsby arrives at Wembley at 14:18. Well done to your fans though, you've already shifted an incredible amount of tickets. However many we take though I'm sure we'll be in good voice and give you a good run for your money in the vocal stakes and the one thing I do want to know is "Will Craig Disley celebrate when he scores a stoppage time winner for us" See you all a week on Sunday.
