Article LINKI do hope some compromise could be reached by all 3 parties and the quote below isn't true; "Rovers would have to match Line's league one wage", which is on the larger side by those standards by all accounts. I do hope we don't go back to the days of overspending. It's pretty simple, give DC a budget for whatever would be breakeven with 6.5k crowds, don't go dishing out big contracts and then then have to inject money into the club to cover a £500k shortfall in the form of loans before declaring you are keeping the club afloat. I do hope we keep Chris, I just like the way DC has shown it can be done without waving money around and I hope that doesn't change.

If we cant get him down to an affordable amount then I would be move than happy to see Stu Sinclair fill his role.

Whilst Lines has been a real asset in the handful of games he has played, his dead ball deliveries superb, I don't think he is the be all and end all of us being successful.
I desperately don't want us going back to the pricey contracts and comfortable players. Not saying that would be the case with Lines, but it's clear he is going to cost money. And cameo appearance playing the remaining games of the season for your boyhood promotion-chasing club at a level below your standard is going to be different from starting a long season potentially in league 2.

Lines has been a revelation since returning. Hope he's here next year.

Don't think money will be the issue here, more like his ear getting bent by her indoors to move closer to Bristol

I rate SS but he does not have the play making quality that Lines has, before Lines joined the midfield looked non existent in terms of creating chances but now its a whole different story, the lad really does control the midfield. If i had to put money on a player to win us the game sunday i would pick Lines.

He will be the playmaker to send us back in to the FL. I do think that he will need some protection from Mansell as Grimsby will try to stop him creating chances.
