Just a message from a Tranmere fan to congratulate you on getting your position back in the football league today. You are a much bigger club than the conference and when you look at some of the teams who have come up in the past and do well if they pull in 1000 - 2000 fans, it's great to see a real team with a big fanbase go up this year. Now we are in the same position as you found yourselves 12 months ago and the fact you have gone straight back up gives us hope for next season. Got to admit that one reason we all wanted you up is because we would see you as one of our major rivals next season so maybe, with just one team going up automatically, our task MAY now be a little easier. Hope you all enjoy the summer break and best wishes for next season back in the football league.

Thanks for the sentiment but don't underestimate the conference. It's not as easy as you might think.

Thank you for your thoughts....
It was tough but was very very enjoyable this season, some crappy grounds but some really great fans and some truly fantastic hospitality.
Glad we won't be doing it next season though
Good luck next season

Got to have the right attitude - we lacked that in the first few weeks but we rallied together, never underestimated any of our opponents and never looked back.
You'll do well under Brabin, whether he can take you back up is another thing, as others have said its very difficult.

We cannot let Rovers die out.
It would have been horrendous for the league to lose two of its four Rovers in two seasons. We have got back, now you lot get back up to make it four again.

thanks whitehot but if your club are serious about a quick promotion, they'll need to get down and dirty with conference fans and listen to what they say.
We had some really really useful advice & info on this forum a year ago from fans of Lincoln, Luton etc, and most of proved very true and very useful.
The first is humility. And the second is more. The rest follows from that.

As I said to a Tranmere fan on another forum. Tranmere should get on the blower to Luton & now Rovers to get a run down of what to expect.

Nice touch Whitehot thank you.. Pretty much summed up by the replies in this thread mate. From experience don't dwell too much on the how's and why's.. Far better to embrace the coming season and start with positivity and optimism. Great hospitality around the conference with some terrific fans.. Good luck for the new season..

What you'll have to realise Whitehot is, as the big league club with a decent ground going down, you will be everyone's cup final. Everyone will punch above their weight to beat you. A lot of the grounds are unbelievably sh**e, the pitches a disgrace but you have to deal with it and worst of all, the officials are totally inept. They are no better than the guy who has taken his referee badge and now officiates on a sunday morning

Plus hope the poor ref decisions even themselves out over the season, one bad one at Dover cost us stright promotion one yesterday probably handed us the Play off win! Squad wise it seems you need a mixture of good league & conference players who are all prepared to battle.

Thats for that whitehot (still havent forgiven your team for the leyland daf game) , the way i see it, as a club we needed the season in the conference as it allowed us a damn good clear out, had almost a new team who needed a few games to gel. as long as your lot climb out of the conference and leave cheltenham down there i'll be smiling

I have always had a soft spot for Tranmere so next season I shall be rooting for them and Grimsby. I would love Grimsby to win the play off final to make up for yesterday but Tranmere to go up as Champions.

The opening few games for the Gas was shocking from certain Rovers supporters who couldn't accept the reality of non-league. Treat it as a safari, you will be going to places you didn't know existed, show some respect and humility. It won't kick in until you have been to some of the smaller, older grounds.
It has been a fantastic experience, I've been to every game but glad it's all over now. Good luck, let's hope you make a quick return.

I hope they have the league won by Christmas.

Rubbish refs and rubbish pitches really do make some games much much harder/random than you'll get in Lge 2 and above. And although I hate this 'everyone's cup final' stuff, there is a degree of truth in it. Not always as a team, but certainly some players do.
