Now I feel like we have something that the other clubs in L2 haven't got. Watch out guys ...

I disagree. No club has a divine right to football league status. We were in some ways unfortunate to be relegated but had failed to see the warning signs and had no-one to blame but ourselves. There are however, several clubs still in the conference (Grimsby, Macclesfield, Torquay, FGR, Halifax, Eastleigh off the top of my head) who could compete at league 2 level in my opinion and there was no shame being amongst that company. Being the first club for 10 years to go straight back up is something to be very proud of and is testament to just how difficult a league it is to get out of. Just ask Luton or Grimsby, both grand old clubs of a similar size to us, and they'll tell you! Hopefully we will look back in years to come with pride at a season where we put the ship back on course, not with shame that we fell to this level. Onwards and upwards! I totally disagree with this common myth that that league was a tough league - just a look at the play-off quality: Doggy-do. FGR were absolute rubbish over two legs - as I've said on another thread anyone looking at that as a club placed fifth in this league and saying it's no different to Lg 2 is just totally deluded. I'd make pretty much the same comments about Grimsby - I honestly never felt a threat from them yesterday - yes they seemed more aggressive and a bit more up for it but I genuinely never drew breath when they were on the break - we totally outclassed them. I think Leadbitter for Lockyer could have given us a bit more penetration to have turned it round and let's face it, but for one poor defensive moment/keeper error we'd have won it in 90 minutes. For a third placed club I don't they even came close to match us for quality. To me it's more that the pressure gets to teams stuck in this league. I just knew we would do it when it went to penalties as Grimsby just cannot get out of this division.

THAT division I enjoyed being arguably the best side in the league and visiting grounds like Nuneaton, Halifax, Gateshead and Kidderminster. But, it was the novelty that made it enjoyable. If a year in non-league is what it takes to reshape our club then so be it. Personally, i'd had enough of us watering money away on terrible attitudes, whilst languishing in the 4th tier. One thing is for sure, I feel far more positive about this coming season than the 2013/14 season.

Agree with the OP.
It was disappointing to lose our long league status (understatement!) but needed to flush out the club, IMO.
Feels like we have our Rovers back for the first time in a long, long time.
