Leadbitter and Sinclair to stay. Would hang on to Monkhouse if not costing us a fortune as he can cover all across the midfield but probably won't be a regular starter next season so not the end of the world if he goes. The rest can go. Not very nice, especially as it comes a matter of days after such a great day for the club and all the players, but that's the brutal world of football. Agree with this. There can be no room for sentiment.

Last time we were in L2 we had a squad that should have been capable of much better, but massively underachieved, was on a downward spiral, low on morale, and poorly balanced/structured. This is why we were relegated, not because the squad comprised of players that weren't good enough. I have utmost confidence in the players still with us from that season, to do much better next season, in a team that is high on confidence and has a much better blend of pace and grit than we had last time. I disagree tbh. We started the season with Mitch Harding up front and when we finally signed a striker it was Beardsley. We also took months to sign Mohammed.

I have been told KP posts on the other forum. I did see him in the West Enclosure at a couple of games towards the end of the season just past.

Certainly not good enough. However, I still felt that Clarkson, Harrold and Richards should've been good enough for L2 survival at least. Plus despite his attitude problems, you'd have thought O'Toole would have added enough quality to get us enough points. Having said all this, when I looked at Tranmere and Cheltenham's teams, they looked strong enough on paper to stay up. I just think that momentum, or lack of, is a major factor in how a team performs over the season. Look at Wycombe, same team as last year effectively, but they finished 4th and challenged for automatic right til the end.

Somewhere, somehow, we should sort out the lads who stuck with us after relegation. sort out? you mean, like Danny Coles sorting out? Maybe DC should take Lee Brown round the back of the west stand and kick the sh/t out of him.

Yep that squad wasn't just unbalanced and lacking in morale it was unfit and under skilled. This seasons squad is stronger in every department. We also have a manager who doesn't set out to not lose, he sets out to win.

DC was telling it like it was he got it right and we got promoted.

We also drew only one more game than we did in 1990. Anyway It doesn't matter how you do it as long as you do it. Ward set out to not get beat and drew and lost a lot last season. DC set out to win games and won and drew a lot this season.

Please don't tell me it was all a dream? any chance of ANY positivity from you?

For me, it's a mixture of lack of quality and an unbalanced squad. When you think back to last season, the midfield was particularly weak and that's saying something because the striker's weren't great!
