Exeter a derby? Ok then. (Springs new debate) Yep, it is IMO. Well I actually agree with you GGMI. It's a cultural thing. We are all from the West Country and we speak funny. Even though we're spread out a bit, we're all from the south-west of Britain. Us towards the top; Exeter, Torquay and Plymouth towards the bottom. Yeovil in the middle. Some of those teams are a long way off but as rival fans I feel a lot more in common with (say) Torquay at 110 miles away than Birmingham City at 95 miles. By the way, Bristol City are expelled from class for wanting to be big-time charlies with a weekend penthouse flat in Islington ready for all those big Premier League games just around the corner.

Tbf, the generational gap is pretty clear in these discussions. Anybody who grew up watching Rovers in the 80s and 90s sees Swindon, Cardiff and Swansea as next in the queue behind 82. Them that came along later go for bloody Exeter and Yeovil, who are both completely irrelevant tbh

Inter county on the M5 derby of the west of England? I'm up for that. For me anything within about an hour is a derby. Therefore I class Newport, Exeter and Yeovil as sort of derbies. Strangely there doesn't seem enough hatred with Exeter though for me. Yeah, there's different views on what constitutes a derby. Obviously the media will attach whatever they can to add interest to a fixture. For me though, we have the teds as the only derby. Games of local interest would be Cardiff and Swindon. The other teams close like chelts, Yeovil, swans, Oxford, I don't really feel it but I get it. Looks like Newport aren't going away so being a very close venue could turn into something, but I never look out for their results. It's citi innit. No one else.

It's going to be an expensive year. I fancy at least 10 of them. I've never been to Carlisle so lets hope it's a Saturday game. Hope it's a Tuesday. Gonna give that one a miss. So you hope even less people go? What difference does it make what day it is if you aren't going anyway?

In terms of this division, Exeter and Plymouth are both places we'll take decent crowds but no way are they rivals. Just fun days out as we take big crowds. Now Cheltenham have jumped ship it's only Yeovile in this league.

Yeovil away, 20 mins down the road. Exeter away, 60 mins down the road. According to Google maps, by car, Huish Park is 1:22 minutes away and St James Park, 1:27.

I only register Yeovil and Wycombe as rivals because of their actions towards us. If we're calling Plymouth and Exeter 'local derbys' then surely Bournemouth, Southampton, Oxford, Reading and Portsmouth are too? You guys are just getting greedy

So with Sarfend doing this business yesterday we now know the full table of teams for next season. Obviously we will be looking forward to games v Wycombe, Oxford, Pompey and Yeovil but what other games are you looking forward to and why? Me I an looking forward to Stevenage away as I haven't been there (they went up to league 1 when we got relegated to league 2) Accrington AFC Wimbledon Barnet Bristol Rovers Cambridge Carlisle Crawley Dag & Red Exeter Hartlepool Leyton Orient Luton Mansfield Morecambe Newport Northampton Notts County Oxford Plymouth Portsmouth Stevenage Wycombe Yeovil York Crawley, Morecambe and Newport are the grounds I've not been to...so I imagine I will try to get to one or two of them if the timing is good. We played Stevenage the season after we bought Hayles in a friendly where ex QPR midfielder Simon Barker was trialling with us so I have an excuse not to go there again!!! Enjoyed the beer in Mansfield so may make that trip...and York is always good for a weekend.

Can someone please explain Notts County as a rivalry to me? Something to do with them failing to give us the ball back after we kicked it out for a throw in, so one of their injured players could get treatment.

I've never gotten excited about any game as a "derby" other than City. It is the ultimate, and no other game comes even remotely close. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that Yeovil, Swindon, Newport, Exeter and Plymouth, carry no extra significance for me than say Luton or Wimbledon. The only difference is they're closer, and therefore we're likely to visit (and be visited by) more fans.

That's more or less right, but I think it was our injured player and the big issue was that they scored from a move from the throw in when we were expecting the ball to be returned. That cost us two points which would have kept us up that year.

Wycombe at home. Will be a great atmosphere. Make it as intimidating as possible.

That cost us two points which would have kept us up that year. They hated us before that ...due to the ref not giving them a decision in the leyland vans trophy 1990. Yes I know - illogical as it was the ref's fault but there you go! Both teams think of the other as cheats now.
