You get the honour of being the last ever team to visit Bootham Crescent. Make sure you pick up a souvenir! I'm guessing the away end toilets are still open air? Remember it being flooded with a mixture of p*ss and rain water last time I went!

I thought I'd forget about football during the summer. Watch a bit of cricket... enjoy the horse racing... Now I can't wait for it to start again.

At 9:00am this morning the 2015/16 fixtures were released and Bristol Rovers will start the season at home.
Darrell Clarke's men will entertain Northampton Town an Saturday August 8th before traveling to Huish Park to take on Yeovil Town in the first of the South West derbies.
“It's always good to begin the season with a home game and the fact that we are once again a Football League club should ensure there will be a big crowd at the Mem to see our return to League Two action.
“They [Northampton Town] will provide us with a tough test but we will be looking to start the season with three points.
“We only lost two games at home last season and we need to build on that for this upcoming season.
Other notable visits to the Memorial Stadium are Barnet on August 22nd, Portsmouth on 26th September, Yeovil Town on 16th April and Exeter City on 23rd April.

Newport away will probably be moved to the Friday night, due to Wales being at home in the Six Nations on the Saturday.

Remember it being flooded with a mixture of p*ss and rain water last time I went! I heard a rumour that a bit of perspex has been put over the top, but I can't confirm that! And as regards the play-offs, I think we're more likely to be "challenging" at the wrong end of the table again this year.

Thanks to Nigel Worthington we're stuck with a bunch of crap players who are still under contract for at least another year, and we can't sign anyone else until we get shot of them, and nobody is likely to want to take them off our hands. We're likely going to be going into the season with much the same squad as the one that just about limped to safety last time round.

Although why does a rugby match in Cardiff effect a football match in Newport as surely it's two different Police forces, Gwent & South Wales, covering the two games?

Just noticed there's no New Years Day fixture? What's going on there?! I assume playing on the Saturday, 2 Jan, makes more sense?

But yeah, I don't think it will be much of a problem.
