Just out of interest, when is JPT 1st round announced?
Don't really care because we'll get knocked out by Gillingham on a cold Tuesday night anyway...

You get the honour of being the last ever team to visit Bootham Crescent. Make sure you pick up a souvenir! York moving grounds then? Bet we wont take 3,000 like we did for the last ever game at the Den (Millwall FC)

Newport away will probably be moved to the Friday night, due to Wales being at home in the Six Nations on the Saturday. Wouldn't the Sunday make more sense? Although why does a rugby match in Cardiff effect a football match in Newport as surely it's two different Police forces, Gwent & South Wales, covering the two games? You're possibly right re: Sunday, all I know is that last year's home game against Cheltenham was moved to Friday night due to Wales on the Sat. Basically I don't think it'll be Saturday at 3pm. Police may well be the reason, but I reckon crowds might have something to do with it too. The home crowd may be a little sparse if they keep it at Saturday 3pm. I'm just pretty sure Newport haven't had a home game at the same time as a rugby international (especially Six Nations) in a while.

I have been to our last couple of games at York and it's a really good away day. The ground only a short walk from town so there is plenty to do nearby, unlike a lot of new grounds, which tend to built out of town. Hopefully the new ground isn't too far out of town.

Hartlepool away and 4 days later Morecombe away. Thats over 1000 miles in 4 days plus 2 games of footie.Mmmmm - someone likes us Message for the club hierarchy (DC, don't know what pubs you've been in this week so I can't tell you in person). Show your ambition to both the players and the fans by stating now we'll stay up there, train somewhere in the middle (I hear Darlington have a pitch that's free 100% of the time) and do some squad team-building. Honestly, we'll either need it for good reasons or bad reasons ten games into the season, so get them all twin rooms in a Travelodge somewhere, save the fuel and don't waste the Wednesday by travelling back... I thought I'd forget about football during the summer. Watch a bit of cricket... enjoy the horse racing... Now I can't wait for it to start again. The other two are just getting good....make sure you don't get too distracted, there's at least 6-7 weeks of mind-numbing tedium/nonsense in the football world...

Sadly it's miles out of town on a shopping park which already has access issues. Moving out there killed the rugby club in the 1990s (there was an old athletics ground on the site) and while I don't think it'll be the death of YCFC, the matchday experience will certainly only offer a fraction of the enjoyment of what it does now, sadly. We're not looking forward to it. As with most things in York, they've found a Roman fort under the site so the building work hasn't even got going yet. It's only about 12 years late, so far...

We're not looking forward to it. I hear you. If the UWE happens I'll greatly miss hopping off the train at Montpelier and taking my pick of the pubs on Glos Rd on the way down. I love the feeling when you get closer and closer to the ground and you're suddenly aware that everyone around you is wearing blue and white and walking in the same direction. I'm so directionally challenged I probably never would have found the Mem without that.
