Getting another 'keeper is a priority. With Gough, Macey and Beauchamp gone that just leaves young Preston. I don't want the loan situation we had before if Mildenhall gets injured.

Quality wise its not far off last year, need a creative midfielder, another winger, cover in defence and as you say in goal.
We need and are due a good season injury wise and i cant see why we would be afraid of any teams.

My biggest concern is some big matches against teams who did well last year before our lot have had a chance to Gel, can see the fans on their backs by Match 3...

We have the whole of pre season to gel, that term is just an excuse managers use for a poor start anyway.

Starting 11 is looking OK, but already the bench looks weak. I think 3 or 4 more outfielders and a keeper and we won't be far from the squad we need. Key for me is the loan system. DC has talked about using the loan system "in the right way" - anyone know what he means by that? If he means add in some quality from Championship u21s it could be good. If he means keep them for injury cover then I am far less confident

IMO:
- Still need our two first choice wingers (Don't think Gosling or Harrison will be starters) - Harrold replacement - Conference experienced CB - Backup GK
Could possibly do with another creative midfielder too, but don't think we'll sign one.

Championship loanees that we play because they are a class above, that's what we need, that's what other teams did in league 2 much better than we ever seemed to!

We got beat by teams last year that weren't as good as us. It's not all about the best players. We remembered back to the Fleetwood/Rotherham games when we were on the bones without a full bench. We remember Twerton. We had a decent squad last year with some high paid players for the division.
We need to be fit, we need pride and togetherness. We need fight and never-say-die approaches to every game. Football wise, we need to make set pieces count and we need to work hard off of the ball for eachother. Too many times we see players panicking with no out ball ending in a lump upfield. That is because we are not working as hard off of the ball as the other team. Not acceptable.

Definitely need a back up keeper, that's wafer thin. Back line looks really good for this league, midfield better than last year, and the forwards couldn't be worse than last year. Cover needed but hopefully on its way. Its not the quality of individuals that really matter, its how they are put together as a team, the tactics, and the belief imbued in the squad. Look at Costa Rica in the world cup. Definitely the whole was greater than the sum of its parts. Let's hope we are likewise.

Couldn't agree more, gotta say I believe Clarke is the right man to build this team. Right attitude for me. Love his passion, hope it brushes off on the players. Excited for the season now COYB

Mostly Agree. The 2 wingers and a playmaker in midfield a must for me though. Not so sure we will get a replacement for Harrold As numbers wise we are about the same as last season for forwards, but that will probably depend on how Brunty is looking in the warm up games.

I thought we had a lot more strikers (I use the term loosely...) at the club last season than this tbh? Harrold Brunt Clarkson Richards Beardsley Gillespie Harding Now we have: Taylor White Brunt We 100% need a Harrold replacement IMO. Not sure how much you can read into this, but I notice that Harrold's #9 shirt wasn't given to either of our two new strikers either. Being saved possibly?

Looks like a load of players now you've listed them(+ mo as well) but I wouldn't think there were more than 4 of those players available/in favour at any given time though.i have gosling down as a forward also.

I thought Sinclair was a winged? You're thinking of Gosling. lol! Predictive text! The 12 year olds scouting report said he played on the wing, clearly my mistake is in listening to 12 year olds!!! Based on what I have seen, Sinclair has always occupied the right wing, though research concludes that Stuart can naturally adapt himself in both wings and all other midfield roles. Again, based on what I’ve seen of him on the wing, Stuart is an eye-catching individual through his sheer pace and work rate.
