Quite often sceptical of such articles, but imo not all wealthy investors look upon professional sports clubs as a potential cash cow. Look at what Bruce Craig is doing for Bath rugby, their capacity home crowds are not that much higher that what we have been getting at the Mem recently. His aim is to give Bath Rugby stability and make the Club sustainable. If an individual or consortium was willing to invest for the benefit of the long term future of the Club and supporters, I'd be all for it.

Breaking News: Friend of other Director once talked to Nick Higgs. Slightly different scenerio here though as we all know Smallman was at Rovers last, & biggest, game of the season as a guest of, it appears, NH.

Slightly different scenario again today ...... news of potential american buyers? Go ahead for chris lines to sign? Both in one day, maybe just maybe something has been relayed from the courts but no publicity?

We couldn't wait for the courts anyway! Potentially start the season with some of last year's squad and no bench. That was just an excuse for lack of activity. Tony would have strategy for late court decision allowing us to continue trading.

Not sure we can read alot into the B Post running a story which originated on the other forum just after the FGR game, particularly as Rovers have already denied they are in takeover talks. As far as Lines is concerned don't FL players contracts end on the 30 June/start on the 1 July, if so, I assume next season's contract as simply been transferred to Rovers?

I must be thick.
We currently don't make a profit and we are ....well....crap.
Surely in order to make profits we will either need a better infrastructure or success on the pitch right
So why shouldn't the people that bring either of those 2 things make some money?
Other than a name/colour change how can anyone really leave us worse off than we currently are?
Please explain.

I also can't understand who anybody can be worse than our present BoD who have ran up massive losses whilst taking our team into non league football for the 1st time in our history. The only thing worse would be a Hereford/Salisbury like takeover but surely somebody like the "ynaks" wouldn't follow that path?

If someone comes in and makes us profitable then they are welcome to the profit as far as I'm concerned as we will be doing well as a football club.

Can anybody name a Championship club downwards who's making a regular decent profit without a transfer windfall?
