News to me? Just a rumour??
This true, after a defeat the crowd were on the players back Buckle said not to listen to to those Bristol Fools kitey took offense and had him by the throat. It was a night game and we lost 3 nil to port vale, crowd booed, I believe more so buckle off, he was getting a lot of stick. In the tunnel, he apparently said all bristolians are c@#ts, PK took offense and lifted him by the throat. I also believe that Phil is a good judge of character.

Not only is he a nice guy, he's a gashead and a gas legend, I mentioned this in another thread but his runs on to the pitch to treat a player and beat the opposing physio has made him legendary. Thanks Phil and good luck.

I would guess he was a Leeds supporter up to the age of 8. Wrong I expect but it seemed a bit obvious. I have known Phil since he was a young lad at Deerswood junior school, always talked Rovers , just like his father"Handles", as Phil and older brother Nick called him. Known for his handlebar tache. You wouldn't want to mess with him. I was mates with Nick Kite and when I went round to his house Handles scared the living daylights out of me. He inserted that rod of iron firmly up the Kite backside. And made sure it stayed there.

I understood that Kitey was helping to hang that nice Mr. Buckle's jacket up on a coat hook. It was a mere coincidence that Mr. Buckle was wearing the jacket at the time.

he lived 3 doors down the road from me in westbury with his wife and kids, if i saw him in the village i always said "alright phil", but i never introduced myself as i'm one for privacy etc, he probably wondered who the f@ck i was and how i knew his name.... it was always amusing when he came running on the pitch because my sister always shouted "it's neighbour".... To be fair, everyone does that. To you.

Padstow, was he 8 years old ? I might still win this, Lol. About that I was working part time for Mars and I used to give him some bars on a Friday when I unloaded my car

Says he's going to try and get the legends to the other bars. Fair play.

Good interview in the Post yesterday ( yes, I know it's an oxymoron!) with Kitey. Confirms that he was watching Rovers from age 5, proud Bristolian - quote "just ask Paul Buckle".
Signed for Southampton the day Mickey Barrett died so had emotions all over the place. Started his physio training when a shoulder injury made him look beyond his playing days.

You decide for yourselves: Sounds like it's going to be a good game with plenty of old faces turning up (not playing) and hopefully some decent football on show. Would be fantastic to have a "healthy" turnout for our long-suffering Physio. [br Would you have him back though?
