I have received confirmation that Board members will not be at The Mem on Thursday night.
They said that "it would create a distraction from the main substance of the meeting"

Amazed this is happening at all.
Hope not too many people level a load of UWE questions at DC.

They said that "it would create a distraction from the main substance of the meeting" Can I amend that.
I assume that does not speak for Ken Masters or Brian Seymour-Smith.
Yes, this meeting is for DC to give his thoughts and I would be disappointed if it descends into questions about UWE which DC has no control over.

I can see the logic in that.
Genuine question - how many 'paying' Directors are there left anyway? three? Higgs, Bradshaw and Jelf?

Of course, we must not forget the acting CEO, Toni Watola. Although not a Director, he does attend Board meetings in his capacity as Director of Finance.

Who was the one who recently resigned? Watola is not therefore a Director, and therefore presumably does not have a vote? a Board of 4 external Directors seems very small to me. sorry, don't mean to hijack the thread... just came into my mind

Of course GD is also owed about £700k but has deferred its repayment.
Toni Watola does not have a vote, but he has a great influence, some may say far too much, on the finances of BRFC.
One personal opinion, I do not think all the remaining "executive" directors are singing from the same hymn sheet as Nick Higgs.

They said that "it would create a distraction from the main substance of the meeting" Let's be honest who really cares about on pitch affairs this week? I'd be surprised if more than a handful of fans turn up on Thursday, when DC really deserves far more.

I damn well care. The club will still be here long after the current board have gone. Besides, I don't attend the Mem to see the directors, I go to see the team, and that is what this meeting is all about.
One correction for Severncider. GD is owed £980,000 and has allowed it to run rather than put the club at risk.

I hate to say this, but clearly that is the very reason why none of the "executive" Board members will turn up on Thursday.
If Gasheads cannot differentiate between on and off the field matters, we are in for a rough season. DC needs our support at this moment in time.
Just little things like releasing the team details for an upcoming friendly is a great improvement in what has happened in the past and he plays a proper team, not 11 players in the first half and a different 11 in the second half.
I readily admit that I had my doubts about DC at the beginning of last season, especially after the away game at Altrincham, but he turned it round and did a very good job last season.
This season he has to prove himself at a level he has never encountered. I would be happy with a top half of the table finish, taking into account our finances.
If he gets us in a playoff position, he would be a hero in my estimation.

Come kick off in August my only interest will be on field matters, just this week I sense most fans are more concerned about off field matters, as I said above DC deserves far more than a handful of half interested fans to turn up to his Q&A.
As far as BRFC still being here long after the present BoD have gone, I'm not sure that's even 100% certain at present as somebody need to find £7.5m sooner or later if BRFC1883 is to surive at the Mem.

thanks. that's the name I couldn't drag from my memory! Having been a Trustee/Director of many charities, including the largest environmental Charity in Europe, I would regard any Toni Watola's 'influence' with deep suspicion. Officers officiate. Directors direct. Simple.

Rumour is that DC will use the meeting to announce that he and the Beard will personally be funding the UWE!
The Beard will be cheating though as he will be turning blank paper into bank notes.
