The land must be worth at least 15 million, so we need to raise 15 million, so if 1500 fans paid £10,000 each for a season ticket for life, and if elderly fans had a proviso they could pass it on then we could get the UWE. I would not be popular at home, but I would do it. what are your thoughts?

Ain't got it. Ain't likely to get it. To be honest, good idea as mentioned elsewhere but 1500 fans is about half of our season ticket holders I think. Unlikely that many could afford or be willing to part with that much dosh. Also it would be a gamble as we would lose 1500 season tickets worth of income, so unless the income from UWE grew massively we would be struggling.

it's a beautiful idea, but i don't think you'll find 1500 people stupid enough prepared to put a life changing amount of cash and lifetime investment into rovers....

I am pretty sure a hugh amount of money could be raised as mentioned by people buying 10 year debentures & I am sure 1000s of supporters who couldn't afford this would be more than happy to make a donation by sponsoring and having their name on a brick. This season 70 buisnesses were willing to pay £1000 just to have their name on the shirt ,imagine how much they would pay to have use of an executive box & conference facilities for x amount of seasons. Then there is naming rights for ground ,stands ,bars etc., contracts from companies to supply food & drink for several seasons. I am sure it's been done at other clubs , why can't we ?

I think it is possible that some funds could be raised by this method but a long way from all of it for the reason stated. So - other ideas needed to make up the shortfall. Over to the ideas people

Shouldn't we merge this thread with Mark's? He has loads of ideas but no money and here we have loads of money but no ideas?
Sorted.

If I had ten grand going spare I wouldn't put it into a tinpot football club for the sake of a stadium that could well end up as a white elephant.

not trying to be negative, but how long are the UWE going to wait for us anyway? There seemed to be serious rumblings that they wanted it sorted out or move on.
The only reason that a lovely stadium like that was only £4Om was because of the UWE.
will PP also run out soon?
UPDATE -
the tiny, tiny bit of good news is I've looked on South Gloucs Council website and PP for the Stadium wasn't actually signed off until 17th Jan 2O13 and it is valid for 5 years.
But would the UWE wait that long anyway...? Even if we could get a Plan B going, or even if there was a successful court appeal [and then a presumed Sainsbury's counter-appeal]
