Was his value at his age likely to go up? It was his dream to play for Liverpool, probably beyond his dreams tbf. I am sure he is very satisfied with how things have gone for him. England goals! None of us would have called that in 2007.

It all went a bit wrong for Rickie - joining Liverpool as the pinnacle of his career at just the exact same time it all imploded for Liverpool, Rodgers and Gerrard. His value has plummeted, but he's not far off still being the player he was a year ago - for a short contract maybe, given he's 33. Very good signing for WBA imo. With Suarez moving on and Sturridge being lame it could have all been so different for him last season had he been given a chance. Felt a bit sorry for him really, hope he succeeds in his next move.

He'll come back to us next season and score the goals to help us stay up in league 1.

He'll come back next year and build the UWE Single-handed. Stuart Sinclair would like a word.
