Can't spend like we used to because we were splashing out £3.8m on wages and losing £500k a year. The reason the budget is much lower this time is because of the money the board have ****ed down the drain. Spend within our means of course, but not be severely handicapped by continuous crap management from those at the top. I feel for DC a bit. This is a real opportunity for him to have a crack at back to back promotions and the board are holding him back. If he does well and he gets a better offer elsewhere then I wouldn't blame him for leaving at all. He won't leave, he's too loyal. But I could see him getting p*ssed off at the board further down the line and it hastening a potential departure. The budget is frustrating, because I think those 4-5 players that DC wanted to bring in are the difference between potential top 3 and 10th. We have momentum, which is rare for us and may well be wasted. The saving grace for me is team spirit and morale, qualities that cannot be underestimated in todays game.

I really fear this. We are going to lose the appeal for the stadium and then what? I can really set a potential fall our further down the line. DC is loyal but I can also imagine he is loyal to his family as well. Why stay at a club with little ambition if someone offers him more money and are more ambitious than us? We shoot ourselves in the foot sometimes, we really do.

We need new ownership SIMPLE and it will come provided Chairman Higgs shows he genuinely has the best interests of the club at heart when there is a conflict with his own interests.

The board are sitting on a club that has outstanding loans to them for £millions and owns a piece of land that would fetch £15m for housing. I can't see it being a viable option for people to buy it, unfortunately. The board seem to want investment with them remaining, and what person with any sense would keep this bunch handling their money/invesment? Out of date, out of touch, and now out of options...

Our Board have less clue on budgets than our Government!! From the day Dave Penney told them they paid too much in wages the Board have been rubbing their hands and reducing it to what we have now. Unfortunately for DC he is the one in the position of probably having the worst and lowest budget in our history in respective terms. It is no good saying that we have paid too much in the past, the truth is we have wasted it and the Board must take the blame for it. If McGhee,Ward and Buckle had spent their budget sensibly then we could have been so much better off. We paid too much ,particularly McGhee for poor unfit players.

We need the Labour ideal...........Oh, hang on, we had that with Buckle and McGhee, Jeez, we are doing things right for a change and we start to panic, get a grip for goodness sake and we have a chance of a sensible club run in a sensible way.

No, get it right... DARRELL CLARKE is doing things right. The board got lucky with his appointment and are failing to give him the sufficient backing to give him the best chance of getting us up another league. The board have never done things right.

No Buckle ,McGhee and Ward wasted money. DC is sensible but needs to be given a decent budget which he won't waste. Past managers wasted time and Money chasing one target for ever and then made desperation signings. McGhee signed too many sacks of spuds ie Kenneth. It appears we have now gone too far the other way with budgets and DC is the one who is paying for the failures of others.

Really ? When things go well the BOD got lucky, when it goes wrong it's the BOD's fault ? DC is doing pretty well but yet to be proved to be the second coming, lets not get carried away.

Yep, the board didn't back Darrell last summer. It was an appointment out of necessity rather than judgement IMO.

Are the Board finally giving a manager a realistic and sustainable budget? Something many of the haters have slated them in the past for not doing. Back a manager and they are watering money against a wall, give a manager a proper budget and they are selling him short. The only thing that matters is that Toni has said 6000 fans plus Shirts plus Corporate = playing budget. There you go Darrell. Anymore is derelict, and less is selling short.

Lines wanted out. If the budget has gone on lines then once again we haven't learned. DC seemed confident of bringing in some faces which haven't materialised. We need 7 on the bench this season, a few injuries and we are short already.

Did we use loans last year ? Maybe we will again ? I thought everyone loved the way Yeovil did it and did it well ?

It was only over Christmas they started to back him. They are backing him even less this summer even though he has proven to do the business! We've got no cover for Brown. No cover for Lines. 2 poor keepers for the league. A lack of quality on the wings. DC knows he needs to strengthen but his hands are tied.

Saying they are poor is a tad harsh
