DC offered him a contract, but that's irrelevant to your weird equation. According to your weird equation Raheem Sterling isn't good enough for Liverpool. Monkhouse may or may not be good enough, that's a matter of opinion, but trying to make it an objective truth by proving it through your equation, is bullshit. Your equation doesn't prove anything; it's nonsense. It's perfectly possible for someone to be good enough for a level of football but refuse a contract at that level. It's my opinion. Keep your rudeness to yourself. Not sure why you think I'm being rude. You're perfectly entitled to your opinion, and I respect that. I'm saying your proof is bullshit.

Why bother trialing him them? Seems like the lads been strung along from the outset to get him on peanut wages. ? Wait what? WHY HAVENT WE GIVEN THIS LAD WHOS BEEN AVERAGE ON TRIAL ON A HIGHLY PAID 2 YEAR DEAL FFS. No need for the attitude. I wouldn't have offered him 2 years and we all know that DC wouldn't give him a highly paid contract either nor would I want him to.

I haven't got any proof. It's just my thoughts in words, my opinion of the situation. I'll meet you in Colesys car park if you want to get smart. Bring your mates.

I'm just pointing out your thing with the equation didn't make any sense. If your opinion is that Monky isn't good enough, then that's fine. I don't agree, but as you say, there's nothing wrong with expressing an opinion. If you're trying to prove it with equations like, "monkeys was obviously not enough to make him want to stay=DC didn't want him=not good enough." then that's just nonsense.

That's at least twice today I've seen forum members offering to fight other members. Plus other unnecessarily irritable remarks. It occurs to me that football may be like sex, in that it has been getting on for three months since we had any proper action and this may be making people cranky. Let's hope the start of the season will bring ease and contentment, with former antagonists leaning back, taking a drag and asking , "How was it for you?"

It was just a joke of course, I don't take it too seriously if you haven't noticed!

Sinclair is not a proven player in league football, Bodin is. Is he? Just because he has played in the football league doesn't make him proven? Yes it does he's proved he can play at this level, Sinclair so far hasn't proven he can. Hence why players with league experience will demand an higher wage than non league players in general. Whether that means anything come Saturday is another matter though.

I'm really looking forward to seeing SS in the League and racing around like a terrier with rats. He'll do ok IMO.

I could play at a higher level. Doesnt mean I would be good at it.

No but you will have proved you could play at that level, Mansel & Mildenhall are proven league players but Sinclair & Puddy arent, you can bet they're being paid accordingly.
Whether any of them will be any good this season is another issue entirely

DC has shown already he wont just sign players for the sake of it and he's happy to let them go if they don't make the grade. This sort of deal looks like a good one to me.

Having just watched Bodins interview, I'd like to alter my opinion towards it being a good offer for him at this stage. He seems to be satisfied with the 3 months viewing it as an opportunity. Good luck to the kid.

Good luck to the kid. [br I think you're right about the offer, it does suggest we are painfully short of cash etc, and it was risky given that he could potentially have gone elsewhere - I wouldn't have blamed him for taking lower wages at a lower level for a proper length contract - but now he has signed it, it is a great deal for us as he had to go out there and prove himself or he's out on his ear.
