I am almost ashamed to be a Gashead today. Nothing to do with our naive display against Northampton yesterday. I refer to the shameful response to Des Hinks' World record bid which he kicked off at the Mem yesterday. His goal is to watch a match at all 92 league grounds in a record time. As I post this, Gasheads have sponsored him just £5,and that was me. This is despite an article in the game programme,on the website, and an announcement at the game. Come on Gasheads, his charity is the Depression Alliance, and you can support him on his Just Giving page www.justgiving.com/allaboutthe92/

He should have posted on on of the forums what he was doing. When he posted on here the other week he made no mention of collecting for charity did he??

Do you give money to every person who begs you for it? Charity maybe, but people can only give so much. Its good to know that you give to every single charity going though. No doubt I'll be ridiculed for daring to say this, but why have we all got to give to everyone.

On a side note, did des introduce himself to anyone yesterday? Did he tell anyone what he was doing, did he post any pics about his first outing? Or are everyone expected to give to every begger on the internet? Is des a prince from Nigeria who has forgotten his bank details, who has also won the lottery but needs a 'helping hand'

Actually I rarely give, owing to finances, but I thought that this was a good cause.

If you don't want to give personally,I completely respect that,we all make these choices based on our own beliefs. I just find it sad nobody else felt this a cause worth supporting. We have 40000+ fans, and its not as if there was no publicity. The guy only needs £100 at each game he attends to reach his target.

Is that correct? Also I googled your charity, couldn't find anything.

I don't want one penny from anyone on this forum. I have no connection with this guy or his charity. Never mind guys if what I've said doesn't change your mind that's just sad for you.

There's quite a few new members on here in the last few days who've come storming in with big opinions and a bit of attitude. I'm not saying they shouldn't, and welcome on board. People can say what they like, within reason, but who's been organising the Gaschat recruitment drive?

Is that correct? Also I googled your charity, couldn't find anything. It comes up at the top of the results page, and, from my personal point of view, he is raising money for a good cause, although I appreciate that we all have different reasons for supporting various charities. I was aware of a guy trying to set a new world record, but hadn't seen anything about the fund raising connected to it, as I rarely read the OS. Anyway, best of luck to him.
